    Rabbit has frostbit feet

I have a young (month old) wooly rabbit who spent his first night outside. He then promptly got his feet frozen to the wire. I thawed him and brought him inside. His feet were swollen and bruised. Then, I let him nurse off a doe. Not his mother, his mother doesn't like him much anymore, but a...

Need help regarding a head tilt bun losing weight

So my house bun got head tilt a few months back. He got pneumonia, which traveled to his ears causing head tilt. It's permanent. He's not contagious. He lost a lot of weight after the pneumonia, and then the head tilt, so he was only recently gaining weight. He seemed to level out to a thinner...

    Pics of the rabbitry.

Hey guys! Hope all is well. I just wanted to show yall the newest additions to my rabbitry. At this moment I am breeding: cinnamons, silver fox, champagne dargents, and jersey woollies. Luckily I have the kindest woman ever mentoring me. My 2 dargents. They were a spur moment purchase. We...

What are the genotypes for silverfox & champagne dargents

I've done some basic genetic research, and I mostly get it but.. What color exactly are black silver fox & champagne dargents? Their genotypes? And, if I crossed a black SF with a CD, what would the kits look like? Thanks very much

    Doe humping the buck

Ok so I just got 2 jerseys today. I was told it was possible for the female to be pregnant. I had the buck out so I set the doe down on the couch with us. He was a bit loving and groomed him a bit, but she humped him a bit and even sniffed around his parts. He did no mounting, and they ended...

    Baby bunny head tilt?

So Molly's kits are a bit over 4 weeks old, I started weaning them a few days ago. They're eating well and are acting normal. But, one of the buck kits seems to have head tilt. I've separated him, and he's otherwise acting normal. Could this be related to weaning? Otherwise what should I give him?

Doe bred to large buck on accident

Due to an escaping accident, Dolly, our 3ish lbs (can re weigh her) holland lop was bred to our 8-9ishlbs silver fox buck, Frank. I could see semen around her vent so yup pretty sure she's got franks babies. Now, just a guess, but there's no way she could survive his litter, correct? Given...

So I thought I could only get blue tort

But these guys don't look blue tort?? So y'all know the buns I posted ~1 week ago on sexing them? If not no biggie. Just that, Well these are the same ones! 4/5 made it. I made a comment about how they looked pinker than normal, but afaik I could only get blue torts. Mom is a VM Siamese, sable...

    Sexing newborn kits

Molly had a litter of five! FIVE! :D not only the largest litter we've had so far, NO PEANUTS!!! :P I'm so stoked. She made a BEAUTIFUL nest, pulled a ton of fur, and they were all in the nest. I went outside and have her an alfalfa compressed pellet because I was busy and didn't feel like...

I never realized just how big Peruvian guinea pigs were..

Anyone ever seen one? Cause I sure hadnt! I was recently lucky enough to visit Ecuador. While there, we visited a native village and saw the head of the communities house. She had probably, ooh, 50 pigs? They were all very skittish, and super super loud. Some of the biggest sows were the size...

    Bleeding rabbit penis- graphic pics

So we got this new buck, a mini lop. He was out and our holland doe go out. He cornered her, but as far as I could tell didn't breed her. It's been 4-5 Hours and I got up because our other doe attacked her kit (she's ok, but has been put in a different cage) and I heard screaming. So I looked at...

Would a silkie guinea pig make a good meat pig?

So I've been wanting to do meat guinea pigs for a while. Haven't gotten any yet. Except, today I saw a sweetheart on Craigslist. A silkie guinea pig. He's a year old, intact, and has been a pet his entire life. Comes with all of his supplies, and once I sell this doe, I'll have the money to get...

    Doe humping kits

Dolly was humping both her kits. One is 6weeks the other is 5 weeks. Time to separate? I separated anyways, just for tonight, so that they'd make less noise. Course they're still being loud, but whatever. I'm pretty sure they're still nursing, even if it's minimal. But they're both drinking and...

    Molly kindled today...

....and she has a 3 week old kit still with her. He was snuggled with the new babies. He's the crippled one. What do I do? Take away The older kit? Or leave him with the kits? There's 4. She did a good job this time, they all ended up in the nest at least. I don't think the older kit would...

Does this look like a mini or holland lop?

Considering getting a BEW holland lop, they sent me a few shoddy pics, this was the best. She also sent a video and it just seems... Very mini lop-y. If they can remember what the breeders name was that'd be nice so I can just see what the breeder breeds, but they don't seem to be able to...

    Kits foot sticking out

So today I was looking at my other does kit, and one of his back legs is sticking straight out. He appears to be able to move it , but it's not as developed as his other leg. It seems pretty smaller, and has much less fur. I know there's there legged rabbits, but do you think this will pose...

    Doe tilting her head slightly

So today I was feeding the kit (holding the mum to feed her kit) and when I put her back in her cage, I noticed her head had a slight tilt. Not super obvious, but a slight tilt to the right (looking head on). Should I be concerned? She's living indoors and seems otherwise healthy. Good milk...

    doe keeps uncovering kits

So Dolly's kits are 8 days old now. She kept uncovering them to groom them (I assume) but they lost a lot of fur (in the nest) and staying uncovered concerned me. But I'd just cover them back up, and as they got fur, I got less worried. Well, I shouldn't have :( I came home late today, and saw...
