Hello, We're looking at buying a chinchilla mini lop for my son for 4H. I hear that they are judged harder, they have to have a curtain amount of color bands, etc... but I don't know much more and am striking out on google searches. Is there anyone online that can help with what the breed color...

I think she might be pregnant! I'm not great with the tummy palpating yet, but I'm pretty sure I felt something. If she is... she's due next week! Yay!

Ever changing babies! Sheesh! Yep, there are 4. I'll have to check again tonight. I think they're pretty similar looking, but I do remember that one is lighter looking than the other (and I think its the one pictured).

I tried today with the doe that I was posting about "how old is too old for breeding"... Crossing my fingers and toes for a take. I wish I was better at palpating tummies at 12 days. I don't really have any experience with it and what I have done, I've never been confident I was feeling babies.

5 days old now -- pardon the little bit of wet. It looks like their bellies are lighter colored!

Thanks grumpy. We're back from a little mini-vacation before the kids return to school Monday. House sitter did a great job and the babies and mama look fantastic!

None... :( Can you tell me what you give yours and I'll buy some today! I'm new to bunnies (bought our first in April). My bunnies eat grass hay and alfalfa pellets and veggie treats for playtime.

Thanks for the peace of mind folks... I was thinking it wasn't too big of a deal if it was just spotting, but this is only our second litter ever in the house and the first kindling happened while we were on vacation. So I believe we didn't see the mama and kits until they were about 3 days old.
