Rabbit has frostbit feet

Heritage he was near the water bowl so I believe that's what happened. Miss M: he's a baby jersey wooly, he'll let me do anything lol. Glad to know I can give him quite a few. It definitely doesn't smell good ): but I swear his feet are less swollen now!

-- Wed Feb 24, 2016 5:52...

    Rabbit has frostbit feet

Thank you. I will get so,w. The wire is fine, none of my adults have been affected and I don't know anyone else who has their rabbits on wire have this happen. He had a nest box he could be in, and most of my rabbits get cardboard anyways. So, unless I completely covered the wire it seems it...

    Rabbit has frostbit feet

I have a young (month old) wooly rabbit who spent his first night outside. He then promptly got his feet frozen to the wire. I thawed him and brought him inside. His feet were swollen and bruised. Then, I let him nurse off a doe. Not his mother, his mother doesn't like him much anymore, but a...

Any colors I shouldn't breed together?

    3) REW is recessive. It can hide for generations. If you'd like to know if they carry REW, get a REW to test breed. Otherwise you're risking getting them every now and then. 4) the black could carry chocolate, for all you know they did have chocolate siblings. The black could produce more selfs...

Need help regarding a head tilt bun losing weight

So my house bun got head tilt a few months back. He got pneumonia, which traveled to his ears causing head tilt. It's permanent. He's not contagious. He lost a lot of weight after the pneumonia, and then the head tilt, so he was only recently gaining weight. He seemed to level out to a thinner...

    Well now I feel bad!

Google exotic pet keeping laws in (your stats). In Alaska it is illegal to own wild animals native to the area (so moose, but not pigeons, since they're not native). Most places are like that. Sometimes you can get a permit to raise certain species for meat or fur, but not usually for exhibition...

How much is a Herd Buck?

Personally I spend $50 min for my breeding rabbits. I've gotten nothing good for cheaper. $100 is pretty normal spending range. I recently spent $250 total - not including the cost of gas to go get him 6 hours away, or the hotel - on a jersey wooly buck to ship him up from Washington. The...

What ND colors do you prefer?

It's fine to breed otters to chinchillas isn't it? I don't breed ND but woolys which are basically NDs, and I work with REW, agouti and otters. I can breed the agoutis to my otters without any issues getting non showable colors.

How many breeder bucks and does do you have?

I'm still getting started. However, for my breeds I have: Cinnamons: 2 does, 2 bucks Silverfox: 2 does, 1 buck - looking for another/replacement buck Jersey woolys: 2 does, 1 buck - had a litter born recently and I plan on retiring my current buck & replace him with one of those kits. I'd...

    Ooops, she did it again...

Can you just butcher them at 6-8 weeks and sell them as snake food? That's what I do.

    Sleeping with pet rabbits.

If you have an indoor rabbit you can have it live in your room, be litter trained, and it'll likely hop on/off your bed during the night. However, if it's just an outdoor rabbit you want to sleep with, no, they're gonna pee & poo. Also my buns love the bed

Family thinks rabbitry is a petting zoo

Haha, well I'd simply ensure they don't have rabbits, and make sure they wash their hands well

Ever had a male get "stuck"?

That's why you don't leave rabbits together when they're breeding.. Looks like he got bit to me. I had a buck who ended up looking like that after being bit.
