lol thanks, she is kinda stubby sometimes but she weighs A LOT. I like her a lot, unfortunately she isn't tame.

I got a doe and a buck today?? any idea what breed?????? they arent flemish...theyre ears are too small...maybe a cross...oh and whatdo you call these colors.....im soooooooooooo excited....they are around 6 months old

They look nice Flemishstar! The female is agouti and the male is steel....I think. On him I'm not too sure, he kinda looks like a silver fox (??) or a SF mix??? or is he a dark chinchilla. I know somebody will be along soon who knows more than me! :roll:

Thanks....the girl has a big stomach...I thought worms? but shes in really good condition...shes 6 months and was with her litter mates until 2 weeks ago? so if the bucks soliders are working...maybe shes preg...Its HARD (her tummy) it doesnt feel like its fat? who knows... im so confused now its sad...I keep acquiring new stock but no babies all my preg does have been duds so far.... I still have hope for 1

The buck is called a 'gold tipped steel' which is a chestnut with the steel gene. He looks just like my New Zealand and Flemish Giant buck, but your guys ears are longer, so that is my guess on breed.

The does colour is called chestnut.

The male looks a bit chunky so the doe may just be pudgy too EXCEPT it looks like her weight is carried closer to her rib area while the bucks weight is further back in the belly so she may just be pregnant, I will cross my fingers for you

Well I am VERY happy today and PROUd...NO kits, but I rebreed one of my NZW Does too him and he was a pro!! fell off 5 times stomped EVERYTIME and knew exactly how to positon her and move her around, she had no problem lifting at all!! I was SOOO proud Im guessing his swimmers must be working!! Atleast i should have some multi colored kits this time instead of all white!! im so happy!! I'll rebreed her again tonight and tom morning !! Oh and todays lucky number seven too lol

They are nice looking rabbits. I think Dood is right that they have Flemish in them, so your username fits you again!

It really isn't necessary to breed them again. Rabbits are induced ovulators. The eggs will be released about 8-10 hours after copulation, which is how long it will take his little swimmers to traverse the great fallopian tube highway. The eggs will be ready and waiting once the sperm get there, providing they aren't stubborn guys who refuse to ask for directions if they get lost. :roll:

OH I have seen the thread....and I figured the "early nesters" werent bred cause they were almost purple and swollen....one of the 2 whites I didnt breed....Shes REALLY over weight which is why I think shes having problems getting bred? Im not sure what I should do...Cause my new doe MIGHT be preg also I dont know if Ill have room for 3 births (lol if I should actually be so lucky) Also the second NZW is reallllly hand shy. I might just put her in freezer camp....IDK what do to yet...I might just breed her also just incase lol

Btw, this pic reminded me of you... I was taking pics of the rabbits and look what came up... you can see by my tan that I wear flip flops... lol that is the only thing I ever wear, even in Winter. I will wear boots in the snow though. Excuse the bald bunny head please. I can't believe I had painted my toenails... lol that was like 2 months ago.

Yay yay yay! I think I am the only person that actually handles my newborn kits at least twice a day... I can't help it but I've never "lost" on to it. I LAUGH at people who wear gloves... I mean come on... You breed rabbits and you still think the mom is going to abandon them if you touch them?

OBTB, I handle mine every chance I get. I think I do a head count 2 or 3 times a day, and frequently make sure no one is tangled up in hay or getting chilled. So you're not alone.

Im going to try and do an official head count in a bit...They way the hutch is set up its hard for me to get all the way in ...its at head level on my chicken coop and her nest id 4 ft bacl lol...and onlt 1 entry through the front...So in oder for me to reach ALL the way in rewuires some skills lol
