I pressure can my rabbits for cat food (and they LOVE it!). I debone the hind legs and cube the side straps and can the boneless meat in pint jars in my Nesco electric pressure canner -- 6 rabbits worth of meat make 5 pints, and I get 3 cat meals out of each jar (I also mix in half a liver and some steamed carrot/squash, then blend it into a pate). My cats go gaga for their rabbit dinners!

The wings have too many bones to debone, like someone noted earlier, so I keep these for the missus and myself. I picked up a GoSun solar oven a while back and it's my fave way to cook the wings -- marinade as desired, then toss into the tube, point at sun, and let them cook til steam comes out (~1 hour). Fall-off-the-bone moist deliciousness!

This is a fantastic thread! All things I am looking to do when we get that far.
Question? What is considered the "wings" on a rabbit? 😂
🤣🤣

Welome aboard!

I call the wing the three part foreleg including the shoulder. It is small...but imo the best meat on the animal!

Oh my goodness! That plate! 🤤 I assumed that was the case but wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. 😂 It is going to be way too long for a delicious plate like that here. (whining a bit ;))

Lol! Well here's hoping your journey culminates in such a plate sooner rather than later. It is worth all the hard work and planning!
