    ISO tan rabbits

Kelly has some nice Tans, but so do a lot of other Tan breeders. Go to the American Tan Rabbit Specialty Club website for a list of breeders that may be local to you. http://www.atrsc.org/

Why we shoot deer in the wild- amusing post from FaceBook

"The Skunk Ladder", I laugh just thinking about it. That was a great story and McManus was a great storyteller. Another one that comes to mind was about bringing the deer home on a bicycle.

    How do you find shows?

You can go to the ARBA site and search the show listings by State. Following is the link: https://www.arba.net/showsSearch.php#showsearch

Bees in the ground [UPDATE] Tried to dig it up...

Around here, not so much bears, but skunks love to dig them out and eat the larvae. The down side is, is waiting for the skunk to find it. LOL

Bees in the ground [UPDATE] Tried to dig it up...

It's not that hard. Just wait till after dark take a pop bottle full of gas to the hole, upend it in the hole leaving it stuck in the hole and walk away. They should be gone by morning. The reason you wait for dark is all the bee's will be back in the hole and they don't fly after dark.

Overnighting to a show--rabbit confinement questions

I show Tans and have been to many shows where the rabbits stayed in their carriers overnight and in a few cases for two nights. As they are a running breed and fairly active, my routine is to put each on the show table for a few minutes to allow them to run. This is done before the show(s)...

Saw these rabbits at the fair, what are they?

I agree with the above - they're young Champagne D'Argents that are in the tweener stage between youth and adult coat.

    Solid partitions between cages??

The dividers in my cages are pieces of vinyl siding, cut to length and clamped to the cage side with c-rings.

    Oops- inside out cage.

One of the reasons I started using C rings as opposed to J-clips was the PITA it was to remove the J-clips if needed. With the C-rings all that's needed is a pair of side cutters or tile nips. The tile nips are a little heavier and require less exertion to cut the ring.

    Went To My First Show...

Then one day you form a breed specialty club and host a breed national.

    Britannia Petites vs. English Spots

Just a thought, but you might consider a Tan if size is an issue. They're a little smaller than an English Spot.

Tennesse red / San Juan mix

Digressing back to beagles and rabbits for a moment. In most cases the rabbit is so far ahead of the beagles that there's no running involved on the rabbits part. Most running by the rabbit is when it is first jumped by the dogs (breaks cover) or sees the hunter move. Mostly the rabbit is...

    Plastic Drop pans

In addition, the TSC ones are hard to clean. Go with Dura trays, they're well built and sturdy not to mention smooth bottoms without all the ribbing, etc of the TSC ones.

    Pedigree question

The rabbit does not need to have won any "legs" in order to be registered. The only time the winning of legs comes into play is when applying for A Grand Champion certificate. In order to do that the rabbit has to be registered and have won 3 legs (one of which must be won as a senior)

    How old do they have.......

According to the SOP for the breed jr bucks/does under 6 months must weigh a minimum of 2 pounds. There is no age minimum per se in order to show - just weight.
