*sigh* I really need to stop breeding to more than one buck. And for the most part, I have, but apparently, I forgot about my new rule when I was breeding Tanya...

Tanya kits, bred to baymax & swirl.
Got opal kit(s). How?? Not possible without a shaded. Forgot about Swirl, a black tort.

So how is it rex furred??
Speckle dam, mom sf, but dad was that NZ/Rex mix, recessive genes!

At least I'm starting to absorb the color gene info! 😅

WTF!!
Broken black tort, it can't make opal?
Wtf then!??

Opal is dilute of castor/chestnut.
Parent needs to be agouti? So either a castor, chinchilla, opal, lynx or a red.
Don't own any red or chin. Only lynx I have are does. Is the blue steel an opal?? But that's a reg furred doe. And haven't kept any castor bucks long enough to be able to breed. So, again, wtf??
What else could cause it?
Maybe it's not actually opal kit??? Arg, wtf! This is seriously bothering me!

$400 in the red. Plus 30 in poo sales. 8 in dog food. 35 in hide sales.

$327 currently in the red.

Looks like people don't want to save money, they want less to close bags, at same cost. Okay. So, once it dries out from today's storm, going to be removing a bit under 1/3 from each bag so they can close. We'll see if that helps or not.

Hmm, one of Gigi's kits is underfed. Going to move it to Quin's nest.

Quin lost one of her kits. Looks like they moved location and it was lost.

So wait, what color is Tanya?

Too many rabbits. Are they all improving, worth keeping??
Rainy day, flood warning, not much to do besides clear the house of holiday decor and check over which rabbit is worth keeping.

Hilda vs Hamlet. Since I have Goliath, I'll cull both Hamlet & Hilda.

Ebony vs broken black foster kit vs broken black doe unnamed. Cull the foster. Breed Ebony to Goliath & keep replacement. Keep broken doe for broken project.

Gold vs Aqua, will have to see current shape & weight, then keep one.

Cocoa vs lilac doe & choc buck. Don't know sire for lilac & choc, so will cull both.

Gotta cull Tanya, thinking to cull all kits, just too slow.

Cull Cinder & Freckles. Have replacements, but check if younger ones are better.

Sell Vickie, Rusty & Jessi, keep replacements.

Widy is on her last chance to kit out, shouldn't of given so many chances, but wanted to try getting those shoulders on a replacement. No luck so far and I'm now tired of her bull.

Have 3 grow outs each from 14× & 11× to decide on. Biggest, best shape from each will be kept.

Oh, boy...
Supposed to sell both. Hmm
Sire is Baymax, so, mutts. 10wks, decent weights for half rex. Hmm...

Ugh, almost 11wks. Slow. Looks like that because was living with mom until yesterday. She started pulling fur and I realized that I'm incredibly forgetful, that or Xoh is just hormonal...Gave nest just in case....

Hmm. Blue is a cull. But looks like the black has a different sire than the broken, because of the perfect SF fur and silvering.
But am I petting the fur pointy for the butt or are they actually like that....More things to check again tomorrow, as there where a ton of them with pointy butts....wtf...

3 siblings to choose from. All have faults, no known sire, so, thinking all will go and I'll rebreed 14.
Doe is small, decent from tip.
Buck decent shoulder and loin.
Last buck is smallest, no shoulders from side, but wide, but seems to have high rise.

Oh, no, not forgetful, it's listed! Due a nest next week, the 19th. So, possible false pregnancy with pulling fur so early...but we'll see.

Looks like 9 does due next week. Oh, I need more nests...wtf was I thinking...

I like your numbers, I think I'm around $2K in the hole, including feed bought ahead. Just got my first two litters Monday, and the American Blue doe won't feed hers, and it's been 2 days. I gave three of six to the New Zealand Red, who also has six, hoping she will feed them tonight. If so I will rotate the other three to her ASAP.

Your ongoing thread is very inspirational!
