I myself wouldn't eat a guinea pig. However, I would feed it to my dogs in a heart beat. Maybe there are raw feeders in your area that would be interested. I know those that feed/follow the whole prey model like guinea pigs and rabbits because of their small size.

Update: So far I thawed out one hide. I laid it flat out on some newspaper and applied some pickling salt. The salt has been on for about 5 days. The last two days I added a fan as an extra drying measure (not sure if it is doing anything). Today (day 7) I dumped off the salt but there is still...

I save the ears and feet for my dogs but I don't dehydrate them. I feed them fresh after butchering or I freeze them until I am ready to use them. I let them thaw in the fridge before use. I guess you could give them to the dogs frozen as well. The dogs love them! I have never tried to dehydrate...

Wow that is awesome!!!!! Great instructions! I really want to make a pair of mittens out of my champagne. Does anyone know if things made only of rabbit fur wash well or how to do it? You would think mittens would get dirty eventually and need to be cleaned. Just curious.
