Everyone got new cage tags.
Ordered steel flashing to make urine guards. Supposedly stiffer than aluminum, which makes terrible guards.
And contacted klubertanz to start an order of crocks, bottles & feeders.

You are building urine guards... Do you have plans?
Actually, I was wondering if there is a simple plan (maybe using a plastic bottle?) for a guard that would direct the urine into a bottle that can be removed so I could easily save the urine.
Any thoughts?

Forgot that the 8-hole was 30×22".
Idk where these pans are from, but they're so flimsy & not quite big enough...

Thank you!!!! I would like to use your plans and modify them so I can catch the urine and bottle it. I understand that it is a great pesticide when diluted with 2 parts water and sprayed on the plants. It is, at the same time, a nitrogen fertilizer (you have to dilute it or it will burn plants). I am anxious to try it!
Also, rabbit urine sells for $3-5 a quart for use as a pesticide/fertilizer/hunting scent. I am hoping to recoup some of my funds with it at the local farmer's market.
And, I am hoping that catching it will help prevent the stench that draws flies.
So, if I am able to come up with a version of a guard that enables me to utilize the urine, I will share the info!
God bless you!

I can only guess as to how to catch it specifically.
Pans, but also a net on top to separate the poop from the pee. Window screens would be easy and light.

The urine guards are to stop pee from running down the sides of the cages and/or spraying off onto other rabbits and directing it down into pans.

Thank you! Your pictures are very clear and helpful. Do you have Silver Fox rabbits?

The directing into a pan is where I need to modify the design--into a container instead. I will work on it!

Thank you so much! God bless you!

Stuff ordered!
Slow going with the urine guards.
Wanted to join 4 hole stackers, but the clips are heavy duty=hard to remove & too many holes have too much floor patching to be safe.
Cut the 4 tops off to join together instead.
Got one done, needs a support bar. 2nd one is started.
Might join the 3 hole stackers instead of the 4 hole ones. If I do, those removed panels, plus the ones from the others, will make a 2×4ft cage, totalling 6 2×4ft holes.

Well, I lost it & jumped on this stacker!
Same as the first 8-hole.

They have others, a narrow 4-hole and another 8-hole. 8-hole they may or may not sell. If so, I'll get it. 😅

95 & humid again, so no more cage joining for today.

There's some Rex I'm planning on getting, but hoping the supplies arrive before I schedule a pickup day. Cus I don't have enough bottles or crocks for watering them.

Opted for the original plan of joining the huge stackers. The wire is thicker, so it made the most sense.
My hand is not happy...
4ft 9in for the two walls I removed. I'll use the other removed panels to make it one cage.

Eating rabbit a lot these days.
Need to relearn how to fully debone before freezing. As I keep finding bits while eating. Lol. Only crock pot or pressure cooking it, so it falls off the bone like butter on a hot knife! And the meat is always good!

Still no supplies...
But getting these!
Plus one black SF buck.
Then I'm done gathering buns & will be culling heavily for fast growth!

Have decided to cull the regular fur broken mutt buck. So, will do him & the bad teeth doe when I get another bun eaten out of the freezer.
