is there any way to tell if you cages are galvanized before or after weld

The one thing which stood out about the GAW as compared to the GBW was that GAW wire had a brighter silver finish to it.

The welds should tell you easily because if it's GAW there will be the shiny zinc coating on the weld and if not there will be dull steel.

ok kool because i just ordered some cages from klubertanz and when i get them i want to make sure they are what they are suppose to be

Which ones did you order? If you ordered the H-Series, it all depends upon the code categories you chose when you placed your order. Codes B and L are both GBW. Codes A and M are GAW. If you have their catalog, go to page 22 and you'll see what I'm referring to.

The E-series economy cages have GBW uppers (top and sides) and GAW flooring. With stackable hutches, the J-series cages are GBW. The K-Series are GAW.

I got the h90 GAW

Then you got the galvanized after weld. I'm putting the last of my most recent order together. The cages were made with galvanized after weld wire, and I really like the cages.

The wire leaves a residue on my hands afterward, but so does cleaning out drip pans or working in my yard. That's what they make soap for, right?

yea the residue will probably go away with time now i just need a nest box i have new zealand and cali mix about to kindle and im having a hard time choosing the right size nest box from klubertanz also do you have any opinions on how there nest boxes are

SJ, if I were to buy some litter boxes at this point, I'd seriously consider either making them myself or buying the sani-nest boxes from Bass Equipment.

Wait I'm confused now use the litter box for a nest box plus I have to order it asap cuz I need to place it by the 18th somebody pls explain

A NEST BOX, usually wood and wire, is where a doe should have her babies.
A LITTER BOX is a container, usually a plastic tray, that a house rabbit (or cat) will use for its toilet.

I know a bunch of baby rabbits is a litter of rabbits, but that does not make their box a litter box.

And ya know what? I'm still gonna refer to it as a "litter box". :p

__________ Thu Aug 04, 2011 6:16 pm __________

Just a classic case of a Canuck trying to teach us how to speak Ontari- ese.

i have 1"x1/2" wire in my cages and to night i was seeing the wire go between the rabbits toes. will this hert my rabbit or when i buld my new cages use a smaler wire? what do u guys use for a cage bottom?

1x1/2 inch is the right size. Smaller won't allow the poop to fall through, and is usually finer gauge, and therefore more painful for their feet, not less. One thing though, they need their nails trimmed pretty regularly. All rabbits toes go thru, but if their nails get long they can catch them in there and hurt themselves.

Don't use 1/2x1/2. It won't let the poops fall through, would be difficult to keep clean and is not strong enough to support the rabbit's weight.

1"x1/2" welded wire is what you want and make sure it is 14 gauge for strength.
