B vitamins are produced by E Coli in our lower gut-- BUT- the B vitamins found in RED meat help us digest that red meat!! The RED in red meat is very important in providing the proper sort of 'heme' iron in our diets for the production of red blood cells. Pernicious Anemia is caused by the lack of B12 needed for the absorption of iron...one of my many health issues! Many years ago, pregnant women who were anemic were sent to butcher shops to get beef blood, to drink, to raise the iron levels in their systems...

SHORT digestive tracts support the absorption of complete proteins-- which are only found in MEATS-- which do NOT include fish/shellfish. ur bodies need complete proteins- and the easiest way to achieve that is to eat red meat.

vegetative foods may contain the nutrients we need, but those nutrients are not all available to us= Example- the iron in spinach is made unavailable by the oxalic acid within the spinach! Of course, that same oxalic acid will also form kidney stones!!!
There ARE times I crave veggies, and times I crave meat- and, the closer to the earth they come from, the more satisfying I find them...

I'm a second hand vegetarian. I eat meat from animals that are vegetarians :)

Reminded me of this sign.

No yellow dye #5....

or red #40. I think I was less sick when I didn't wash my hands so much, drank from the hose and kissed all my animals.

didn't read it, I just wanted to say that nothing has a face when I eat it. The face is gone by that point :p Unless it's smiley face pancakes. I eat those.

I don't worry about "diet" labels. At this point, I just want to eat real food not genetically modified or pumped full of chemicals and hormones and I want my meat to come from animals who are treated well. Basically, if I can grow it or raise it, I will try my best. If I can buy from a small local farmer, I will do that. I resort to grocery store foods only for that which I cannot yet produce myself. (Is my nanny goat EVER going to have that baby???)

I raise almost all of my food, and have for many years,
most "prosessed" food makes me ill, MSG makes me very ill [even small amounts]
so I had to start eating only the things I raised, [except scotch]
because a lot of companys lie on the label- and I would get very sick from eating food with a great looking label.
but-- it has been many years since I have seen a Dr.
but-the down side is--- I can not stand the taste of store bought produce, or milk anymore.

Didn't read hardly any of it. Whether it has a face or not I'll eat it if it tastes good and is not human.

Yeah, humans have too much disease too

That would be from the 'awesome' diets humans have
Eeh, I'd say its probably more of a survival technique... Ya know.. Cannibilasm and all.
Bears don't die of diseases when they eat us, so clearly we're edible... I just think cannibilasm of any species is supposed to be deterred, so you get more diseases from cannibilasm, then you would even of a cousin species.

Just a theory, I'd have to do more cannibilasm research and I'm tired :?

Well, we are pretty much more susceptible to diseases humans(and biologically similar species) already have, than most of what other animals carry
but, I'm sure proper handling and cooking would lesson the risk, and lets stay away from brain and spinal fluid...while we're at it
