I'm thinking each one, it would be easier to read only the gene one is looking for.

the A series...a tutorial.

Okay, i will do that, i already started actually.
If you'd like, you can do a few of them too? I'm fine with both :)

PLEEEAAASEEE don't stick me with the E series and steel LOL :) I cannot explain that gene. And I have yet to discover the love of torts, still mulling over that one with the hollands, blast that non extension gene, death to the harlies... opps got carried away.

I am so confused!!!! The one thing I am having a hard time grasping with color is the extention/nonextention and that is what I need to know the most about. UGH

MAGPIE: if I breed my magpie to my black rex buck and I get magpie do I have to breed the babies back to mom or can I breed them to each other? So I breed a showing magpie to a nonshowing magpie? or both showing?

HARLEQUIN: if I breed my magpie to my castor buck I could get harlequin. IF I do then how do I keep the harlequin color going with what I have? or do I need to buy something else to breed them to to keep it going?

I swear it will eventually click in my mind and then I will be set. And I will always remember who worked so hard to help me get it. :)
Thanks for your help and patience.

__________ Wed Aug 08, 2012 5:47 pm __________

Please please please start with the E's..... you know since there are so many people asking about that one lately......lol

Oh and please do one on fur type as well. :D

Thank you both so very very much. Your the best ever!!! Really I mean it. You are!!!!

You will get magpie only if the black buck carries non extension.

You will get harlie only if the castor carries non extension.

Otherwise, you will only get black or castor (there are a few other choices, magpie is a chin gene, you could get chin)

You do not need anything else, just breed back sire to daughter, dam to son, cross harlie and magpie...

Don't worry, i will gladly do the E series, although i 'hate' Steel and Harlequin too but i do like tort though :cool:
Feel free to start a thread on any of the series you like, then i will go with another.

You had also explained the agouti/self/otter part in another thread so if you'd like you can copy that text and do the A series and paste it there and work it out further as you like, then i'll start with B :)
Only suggesting this if you'd like to do it, if you don't, then i'm not bothered to do myself. :)

Looking forward to the tutorials Disney and Sky! :)

I'll do the A (can you tell I love agoutis :) And you grab that E.

You gotta save tm_bunnyloft from buying any more rabbits (not really, get just one more)! She has everything she needs to get every color she wants :)

:D Thank you.

So what would non extention be? colorwise? in the black and castor instance.

If I do not get magpie or harlequin showing in my kits is it possible to be hiding? In which case I could breed back to mommy or siblings to find it?

Once I get the E's I will thump myself with a "duh" in the forhead. :doh: But right now its more like banging my head on the desk. :wall: lol

__________ Wed Aug 08, 2012 6:06 pm __________

Now just If I could figure out the genetics thing. lol

non extension black is tort.

non extension castor is red.

yep, hiding, yep bred back.

Don't worry, Disney will walk you step by step with this breeding.

Well it will be easier since you all know what I have to work with. Just tell me what to do and Ill do it. At least I have plenty of options for colors to work with. lol

My husband said he is getting me the Standard Rex's I want next month or as soon as they have what I want available as well. a trio of chocolate otters with lilac hiding, a blue and a black. Then I will be done buying bunnies for a good long time.

Oh my blue buck is an otter. Forgot to mention that.

Actually you can't hide lilac, the choco buns would carry dilute, and dilute choco is a lilac. Cross that blue to to choco carrying dilute, and bam, lilac otters--hopefully.

I recall saying that several weeks ago, that this would be a closed rabbitry, after I got the otter and chin bucks and the castor doe. That was 5 rabbits ago.

Yeah good luck with That!!! Once I get lilac and a few more Opal I am so sending some your way!!!

Well i need a little 3 minute break.. i feel a slight headache coming because of the steel gene.. ugh who ever came up with this gene? was it really necessary to invent something this crazy and complicated? why does it even exist? :?

Back to work now :ugeek: lol.. will be up in a hour or maybe 2 i think..

LOL Thank you for doing this. I am sure that there will be allot of people thankful to have this info in a forum where they can ask questions to help them better understand what they are reading. I know I will be...... It just seems like the more I read on genetics the more questions I have. :)

__________ Wed Aug 08, 2012 11:41 pm __________

Ok so if they carry dilute but they are chocolate can they make lilac still????? or am I back to searching for the rabbits that are gonna give me lilac?

If they are chocolate and they both carry dilute, than lilac kits will surely pop up :

BBDD = black
BBdd = blue
bbDD = chocolate
bbdd = lilac

Chocolate carrying dilute would be 'bbDd'
bbDd + bbDd =
25% bbDD (just chocolate)
50% bbDd (chocolate carrying dilute)
25% bbdd (lilac)

sweet. Thank you. I am going to try and get a trio of Chocolate otters from them. And looks like I will be able to get blue otters and black otters as well now. I am set. :) If it all goes through that is. I cant wait for september. I am looking at getting 5 standard Rex rabbits to start my Otters. I am so excited.

A random gif animation with the faces of the 2 anime characters and meme-faces.
But i won't 'distract' anyone here anymore, i'm leaving.

Did not want to insult you. If you made that gif yourself, it is smooth. I am interested in the rabbits though and would be willing to look at your gifs if they were under a different RT board, like around the "coffee table board". Do you have a web site, did you create the gif yourself? I have photoshop but I only use it to do things like touch up photos.
One thing I do have to say about that gif (and it may be my American mind) a part of it, did look inappropriate for RT, with having kids here and that may be just my interpetation. I kept *blush*
