    Thoughts on Holland Lop kits?

They look real good for four weeks but you really have to grow them out, Hollands are tough that way, what looks super young can just not mature well. I start evaluation at 4-5 weeks, cull anything with obvious faults at 8 weeks and give the best time to grow. If you know your herds strengths...

    Bew Holland lop info

It is very hard to find show quality bew, if you are intrested in showing it is best to find a nice rabbit and don't worry about colour just yet. There are few points in the Holland standard for colour, conformation is just so much more important.

    Buck won't climax?

Yup, the buck can't finish if the doe isn't wanting to be bred.

Netherland Doe problems around her rear end (pics included)

I'm also betting syphilis. I treated my herd for it a couple months ago, new brood buck I bought showed signs of it after several months on his nose and anus, no other rabbits had any symptoms what so ever but since I had used him with several does and read it can be contagious via waterbottles...

    Babies aren't selling--any ideas?

Honestly, I wonder if it isn't their age. I can sell an 8 week old rabbit fast as I list it, anything 10 to 12 weeks will rarely sell. I think they are just as cute but I wonder if people think a slightly older rabbit won't bond to them or something. A pet shop that contacted me about supplying...

    Not Good Enough

Everyone has great advice here. I think having long term goals really helps, where do you see your rabbitry in another 5 years? I was in a similar place this spring, I have a small child (soon to be two :) and showing is difficult for me but I want to breeding the best quality I can. I really...

    Need some honest opinions

Pinched hips are a pretty big fault and can impact a doe's ability to deliver live kits. I don't have any pictures uploaded so I'll just link. None of these bunnies are perfect but I don't have to work to get them to sit up like a Holland, the biggest challenge is getting them to sit still...

If she isn't posing naturally around two months she is likely structurally incorrect.

How to handle rabbits that "CARRY" illness

Isn't E. Cuniculi a parasite (protozoan) like Cocci? I would cull a kit with head tilt or with a weak immune system but wouldn't cull the parents right away. Do you do any preventive deworming?

Hind end weakness in adult rabbit

She's gained some weight and seems happier, but hind legs are still poking out at a weird angle, I'm thinking she might have sustained an injury to her back somehow and the other issues were caused by her lack of mobility.

    Hollands

If you are serious about raising and showing a competitive breed like Hollands it is far better to start out with a quality trio from a well respected breeder. You can find cheap rabbits ($20-$50 range) but you will have far better luck with a nice trio. Two years in I am just now where I would...

Offered lots for bunny... What to do

Is it a color you want to be working with? would chocolate (lol) bunnies be more saleable? would you make more than $100. on future kit sales if you retained her as a breeder?

Hind end weakness in adult rabbit

poop looks normal, possibly occasionally more dark brown squishy ones but she might not be cleaning those up. She's getting same diet as the rest of the herd, high quality pellets, whole oats, grass/alfalfa hay with flax and herbs (raspberry, plantain, mulberry, dandelion) as supplemental. The...

Hind end weakness in adult rabbit

Last week one of my Holland Lop does started getting urine scald, she had been losing weight lately (which I attributed to leaving one of her babies in her as a cagemate and separated them) She ended up getting flystrike, which I feel awful about but I hadn't been checking her as diligently as I...

holland lop babies and their ears

That is a very young rabbit and the ears will be very teensy, if you look at the parents you should have some idea of how the bunny's ears might mature. Not to be negative but I think it is odd for a breeder to let you pick out babies that early, a lot can happen between two weeks and eight...
