I think it'll be a big box full of (hopefully) lovely fleeces, although if anything the rams fleeces are going to be a bit pongy. Yay for spinning, I should get back to my spinning project :D

We don't have Koolaid here so most of the time we use food colouring, soak the fibre beforehand in a water/vinegar (or citric acid) before adding to the dye pot. I found it can be a bit hit and miss but it's fun trying it out.

I bought a book "The Nervous New Owners Guide to Angoras" which has a lot of information for the beginner but as for more advanced owners it's pretty basic but not a pricey buy.

Don't move to Australia! It's not even summer here and it's already really warm and humid. I've got a friend who lives just about as south as you can get (southern tip of Tasmania) and although winters get near freezing the middle of summer is known to get near 100 degrees F... we just can't win!

Squidpop, at the moment we're only making sure it's clean by wiping it over with saline, I've heard great things about Manuka honey and might give that a go in a few days.

Last Thursday I took Madogan and Glenfiddoch down to a nearby vet for their sterilisation operations (I'm not a breeder and Madogan's a horror hormonal pee-er), they went through the surgeries with no hassles at all and was told keep them quiet for the next week and stitches get removed 10 days...

My "happy" of the week was that I got a new spindle. I spin wool (and assorted fibres) into yarn and a few weeks ago saw a lovely looking turkish spindle for sale so I bit the bullet and bought it... except it took longer than expected to get from Ohio to here. I'm having a good time spinning...

Your beautiful massive tomatoes have spurred me into planting some tomato seeds myself in the hope of getting some beautiful fruit... seeing as it's spring down here. Some might call them ugly but as long as they taste good who cares what they look like!

Last Sunday my mother and I drove 4 hours to pick up our new additions - an English Angora and a Satin (they had come up 600 odd miles from the breeder to a show), my mother is quite shocked at how quiet they are compared to my 4 rescues... meaning you don't have to chase them around the crate...
