    English Lop Transport Cages

I like single 12 x 18 or 12 x 24 inch transports. They are pretty heavy when you get two adults in a double carrier!

    giants for meat

Giant Chins are my favorite meat breed. They are close to five lbs at 8 weeks, and they eat less than my English lops. They are a little bigger boned than the smaller meat breeds, but I like that.

    How long should I wait?

Slow rolling can just be the intestines working. I watch for the small, quick pokes to confirm she should have kits soon.

    How many rabbits?

50 is the maximum number of cages, and rabbit care is still fun for me. More than that, it is not longer fun...feels more like WORK!

    New colors for my elops

The elop litter is just over 10 weeks old now. The Lilac buck looks like a straight lilac to me, but the chocolate does often look really dark, almost black, on the saddle. They don't appear to be sable, but sometimes they look almost seal. I guess we won't know for sure until they are bred.

Does this confirm me as an official rabbit person?

Some people claim that a quick squirt with a water hose can correct spraying bucks. I haven't tried it ....yet...

Rex with lopped ears, how often does this happen?

I have seen flop ears on Giant Chins with weak ear bases. Usually happens with the youngsters in the spring and summer-- I think the 80s is plenty warm enough to do it. Once they flopped, most did not recover.

Wow! That is wonderful to win classes that are that big! Congratulations to you, your daughter and the breeder.

    Help me evaluate my buck!

I don't have much experience with mlops, but have a few. His depth looks pretty good, but I think he might be a little long in the shoulder making him narrow and he does looks pinched in the hindquarter. From the back, see how he rounds in toward his feet instead of straight down to the table...

    New colors for my elops

Syberchick, the elops and vlops ears are supposed to hang low enough on the head that there is no visible crown--they are to be faulted heavily for a visible crown. The mlops and flops, however, are supposed to have large visible crowns. OMG, Zass, they are all adorable but the curly one is...

    New colors for my elops

Yes, they are. I was surprised because there is not a single chocolate on the bucks pedigree. I bred this same buck to a chocolate doe a couple of weeks ago, so I now hope to see even more chocolate and maybe lilac vlops. She missed last time, so fingers crossed...

Lost our kindle--what do we do now?

I have had a doe or two who would continue to build the next after they were born. She would hop in there and scratch, pull all the fur off of them and keep building with them in it. I have found that removing the nest, and returning it for a short while in the morning and evening the first 72...

    New colors for my elops

Torts are extremely common in most of the lop breeds. You might want to consider being an elop or vlop lover. LOL

    New colors for my elops

Looks like it will be a few more weeks when they are out of their baby coats before I will really know the color of this litter. In the mean time, I've added some pictures of the velveteens because I am pretty sure there is a chocolate tort in there (broken black tort buck x blue tort doe)...

Help a newbie out? Single kit born on wire!

She may or may not have more. I had an elop who had a single kit DOA kit on day 34, too, so I bred her on day 35. On day 36, she had another DOA kit. 31 days later she had 3 live kits. Sometimes, breeding them will help expel remaining kits.
