Best display means that they got the most sweepstakes points in the breed.

Proposed Changes to Animal Welfare Act/APHIS/USDA

Once I started looking into this, I didn't want to stop till I understood it from the beginning. Then I actually got a chance to take part in a teleconference with Dr. Rushin and members of the SRPS last week, which was definitely helpful. Anyway, I put what I've learned at this page. I just...

    Purina Food Recall?

I think the various purina foods are really managed by separate companies, but they have a license to use the purina trademark. So because poultry food was recalled doesn't necessarily mean that purina rabbit food is less safe than any other brand. But still - scary.

    A "What to get?" question...

Havanas can have a bit of a temperament too, in my experience. I've owned two of them. Neither were nasty, but not real sweetie pies either. My best suggestions for a child's starter breed are always Mini Rex, Dutch, and Himalayan. The latter two are renowned for their gentleness, and Mini...

    Found this interesting looking rabbit!

Yeah Thuringer is genetically a tort, and Sallander is sometimes called "iron gray" in this country and is a chin-based tort. It's just one step down on the C-series than tort, and one step up from sable point. Siamese satin is essentially the same color as Sallander.

    Tricolor really "Fourcolors"?

Yes the tricolor could also be an otter. Is the cream color anywhere you would not expect it to be on an otter? One of the parents does not need to be an otter to throw it. A normal tri is agouti which can hide otter. But this kit, if it is otter, should show the cream inside-of-the-ears and...

Line breeding, how much is to much?

As others have said, I would advise being very careful about paying that much for a single rabbit. I paid $600 for a trio once. I discovered that the buck was 5 years old when I got his pedigree, one of the does developed a genital infection and I gave her away as a pet, and the other doe...

    ALBC

Hey Honorine, that's cool that you have silvers. I know three people - including myself- who have crossed Silvers to another breed. In my experience, the type, growth rate, survival rate, fur quality, and general vitality shot WAY up in the hybrids compared to the pure silvers. I had an F2...

    What about corn?

So some rabbit breeders avoid corn in feed with more vehemence than they avoid certain things in their own diet. But what exactly is wrong with corn? Is it just that it's high-energy, high-sugar junk food?

    what is this?

Yeah they all look like sable or smoke pearl based colors to me. Shaded colors appear ticked when they are younger.

    $5 business card designs

That's cool, digitaloutlaw. Do you have a website? I don't do the printing myself on cards so I need a company I can refer my clients to. :)

    $5 business card designs

Well I would switch out the breeder's info with the sample info I have on them now, and then send the breeder the high-quality image file. Then you could use the image to print your own cards, setting up a template in Word or whatever program you use. Skysthelimit - sure, I can do website...

    $5 business card designs

When I do a biz card design for someone I send them multiple designs to choose from. The result is that I end up with a lot of extra unused designs. These are NOT resales - these are unused designs. So if anyone wants one of these, it would be just $5. Will customize for your info, of...

Guess What We Found in the Barn

Aw! I had a castor Mini Rex doe that worked pretty hard on a burrow under the rabbit barn. Then my brother and I expanded it so we could fit through too! :D

    Other than Standard Cal varieties

Thanks Random! I didn't have the SOP handy. So yeah, like Random said a fault is a fault, but only that. Won't be a DQ unless you get an ignorant judge. I don't know how many points in the Cal standard are on color, but that should affect how severe a fault it is. They are awfully pretty.

    Other than Standard Cal varieties

Oh but you CAN show blue and chocolate Cals here. I'm absolutely dead certain you can. The Cal standard never mentions black points. Instead, it says "dark as possible." I've been told by Darrel Howe - I think it was him - that you can show blues and chocolates, and I think I've seen it...

Silver fox popples!!...one may be chocolate!

Congrats on the babies! A chocolate would be exciting. They're so pretty! I was talking to a Silver Fox breeder one time that told me it was really common for her does to go 5-7 days after 31 and have live babies. Maybe it's a breed thing?
