    Ate a Hershey's Kiss

So tonight Lego (1 1/2 year old Holland Lop) got a hold of a Hershey's kiss. He ate all the foil off of it and part of the chocolate. Do you think this will hurt him? Kristy

    Lego - Our Holland Lop

I haven't posted in this forum before, mostly in the rabbit care one. I was trying to find others who have rabbits just for pets, not breeding. We have an almost 8 month old Holland Lop boy named Lego. He lives inside in our living room. I have four kids ages 6, 8, 12 and 15 so Lego, the...

Rabbit Food Questions - I still feel lost here

Okay so we got Lego at 10 weeks old and he is now 6 months old. He is doing great. A feisty little rabbit. Here are my questions about food: 1. If Walmart and Tractor Supply are the only options for rabbit pellets, which brand is the best? 2. On an average, how long can one bag of rabbit...

Still don't know what to do about travel.....

I know I asked this before, but we still have no answers. I have asked all over for someone to rabbit sit or even house sit and can't find anyone. We are leaving for 2 weeks and either have to take the rabbit with us (22 hour drive) or leave him here. I found one person who will come over for...

    Traveling with a rabbit

I have mentioned before we will be traveling at Christmas and plan to take our rabbit with us. It's really our only option. We have no one here who can keep him and don't want to just have someone come and feed him for 2 weeks (that's a long time stuck in a cage for a rabbit that has freedom...

Really eating his own poop now!

Okay, I posted a few weeks ago that our Holland Lop, Lego, was eating some of his poop, not the cecotropes, but the hard round pellets. He is almost 4 months old now. Before, he would eat the occasional poop that he did outside the cage on the carpet. The past two mornings we have gotten up...

Alfafa hay, timothy hay, alfafa pellets, timothy hay pellets

Okay, I haven't posted in a week or so. Our holland lop is about 3 1/2 months old now and doing good. He's finally eating a good amount of pellets. I think he has hit "puberty" because now he marks everywhere. We plan to have him neutered when old enough. But my questions....I read so...

Bunny eating poop - NOT cecotropes

Okay, Lego, is now eating some of his normal poop, not cecotropes. I have seen the difference and it's not cecotropes he's eating. Oh I am sure he eats those too but if he poops on the carpet or floor he will sniff his regular cocoa puff type poop and eat it. Is this normal?

Clipping nails and cut the quick

Okay, I clipped Lego's nails tonight. He jerked on one and I must have cut the quick because it bled. It only bled a tiny bit. Do I need to do anything else to it? He was calm the rest of the time and we did them all. Kristy :(

Best Litter for Litter box and question about cleaning cage

I need to order some new litter. I have been using the carefresh litter plus. It works fine and he doesn't eat it anymore. :) But I wonder if there's something cheaper that works just as well. The biggest problem is I live in a very small town so not a lot of options. I had to order the...

    Crazy Rabbit - picture

Lego is getting braver by the day at exploring. This is what he did tonight. Can you tell where he is?

It's been a week since we got the bunny, now I have more ???

Okay, so now that we have lived with a rabbit for a week, I am a little less stressed. He is eating the pellets more as long as they have quaker oats in them (which the breeder was doing), although he picks out the quaker oats first, then the food we are mixing in from the breeder second, then...

Will the bunny get to the point where he doesn't run from us

I know Lego is still new to our house (11 week old Holland Lop we have had 5 days), but my kids are asking will he get to the point where he will voluntarily let them hold him. Right now if we sit in the floor he comes to us, hops on us, sniffs us, licks us and bites our clothes but when pet...

Update on our new Holland Lop

Well, Lego (that's the rabbit), still isn't eating a ton of pellets. He just nibbles a few here and there but yesterday we tried not doing hay and he ate almost nothing. So we gave him hay back today and he has eaten hay like crazy and is much more energetic and happy. We also added a ramp to...

First time Holland Lop Owner - Feeling Clueless and Nervous

As of last night at about 7 pm, we adopted an 11 week old Holland Lop Buck who we named Lego. I feel so lost, clueless and worried we will kill him. Everything I read has contradicting information. Here is what we have and have done. I would love advice. We have a 24x24 wire cage that we...
