Hang in there, Sharon. You certainly have had a rough year. A lot of us have hit rough spots along the way, but they don't last forever.

The one thing I keep saying is that once you get your foundation stock, close your rabbitry to new rabbits and visitors. Your rabbits can't get these diseases unless they are brought in somehow... and new rabbits are the main cause. Look at what happened to OneAcreFarm when she started out. She brought in one feed store rabbit and did not quarantine. She lost nearly her whole herd. But she learned from that sad experience and bounced back and now has thriving bunnies. You can too.

Actually, I DID quarantine, but only for two weeks...the symptoms showed at three weeks AFTER she had been put into the barn.... :( That is why I have a Full Month Quarantine policy now....

Sorry, Shannon. I'm afraid I forgot the details over time. I agree with a full month.

Speaking of quarantine, Schannon and Hoodat have moved outside, Sistah! I put them out yesterday. I cleaned the cages and BunnyBuckets with rubbing alcohol. This week the temperature is due to drop by about 15 degrees, so I felt the time was ripe! :) I put them in adjacent cages on the bottom tier, at the front end of the BunnyBarn for optimum air circulation. Fingers crossed that everybunny remains healthy. :)

WooHoo! Although...won't you miss having them inside to snuggle?

We-e-ll, yes... but you know the Fair is this weekend, and there just might be a Jersey Wooly or ten (Two! I meant to type TWO! No, really!) that would like to move into the quarantine cage...

I would have really appreciated it if you had contacted me privately once a problem was evident. But you didn't and because that I've learned a lot. It just would have been nice if you had said something to me.
Yes, I said something about this before. I thought it wasnt right for her to post it without your permission knowing you were on the board.
