How big are your pvc supports?
We used SC40 PVC 3/4". They are 27" long and are ruffly about 3' apart. We need to add another support because the buck's cage isn't as long as the doe's cages. The lumber is treated also. Thinking about painting it down the road. Going to see how things work out. If we like raising rabbits then we'll make a few changes, if not, well we're not that deep that it will hurt too bad. :p   I have a feeling that rabbits are going to fit our family just right though.

Looks good,

Keep in mind, that the coons up in your part of the state are "large" and can
wreak havoc on a rabbit cage. Make sure you've got the outer perimeter
completely enclosed. Once the critters find the rabbitry and are successful
in snatching a meal one time, they'll keep coming back.

They're relentless. It's best to avoid a problem beforehand.

If you "think" they can get in somewhere...........they will.

I deal with raccoons on a daily bases. I've even seen them use a key to unlock a pad lock. NO JOKE. Raccoon see Raccoon do. There just as smart as monkeys and apes. (just from my experience with both). Had a 50+lb mama in the barn last year. She was looking for a place to make her new home. Since the beaver cut down her tree the winter before. :x

We have used dog kennel panels for the front and back. We can put a lock on the door if need be, but the latch is really hard to open. Then we closed the gaps with a very thick wire with tiny holes. Tied it all together with strong wire. Leaving no space more than an inch. They may try to dig under but the only place they would do that is were we're putting the butchering/cleaning station. After that is completed this summer even that avenue will be closed. Push come to shove they make good eating and their pelts are nice as well. :p

We took all the steps needed, but I don't see it being an issue. We have had chickens, goats and pigs on the property and have only lost 1 chicken to a snake. :x The inlaws never listen and only used chicken wire and a nail to hold their chicken in and critters out. And still we only lost 1 chicken. :p

But we're going to be keeping an eye out. I know coons love a challenge. :p

The snakes are my biggest concern. I don't want them in the rabbit barn but do want them around to eat the mice and rats. Will be placing out poison to keep the mice and rats gone. Again push comes to shove snake is tasty too.

Nice!! I bought 3/4 too!! I'm thinking about doing 4 on one and 5 on the other, hopefully I'll have enough. I"ll be painting mine, hopefully tomorrow, I still have to finish it yet though. I plan on getting the rabbits on Fri, so I better hurry up.

I had to bring the cages back inside. I've been trying to attach the hay mangers and the weather has not been cooperating with me. Missouri :x

Has it been weeks yet? Has it? What about now?

Nope. Still have 15 days. Provided all works out like it should. Saw some baby buns at the Orscheln's in town, and had to control myself. :p

Here's three sisters, Cathy. Granddaughters of my foundation doe #C-01.
Three months old today. Pretty nice young does. Mama had 9 saved 9.

Young crossbred Cal/NZW buck a month or so older than the girls.
He's a chunk...just 'turned-wrong' in the corner of the cage.
NOT GOOD.... at posing them. Just shot the pics and that's it.

2 of the does would be great. And the buck is a nice looking feller.

Could I pick them up on Friday when I come down for the dressed meat?

Been doing some work to the rabbitry. Placing insulation over the ceiling and started on the butcher station. Here's some pics of where we're at right now.

We still have to place a faucet, drain tube and run a hose. Still needs to be found or bought. Preferably found.

For the projects above we bought the wood for the sink and the beer. Well the beer was drank while building the racks a couple months back. :p
