About 2 weeks ago Cookie was put down after a seizure, but she had held on just long enough to wean her last litter of 5. This is honestly just a mourning post for her.

We got Cookie from an auction in Jacksonville IL this year, and she had two litters with us. Cookie's final kit was one she adopted and tried to save but unfortunately passed from the lack of colostrum, even though she gave it the milk she had left and tried her best to save it.

We are not entirely sure what happened to Cookie. This could have just been old age, or it could have been something entirely different, but none of the other bunnies got sick from her.

Before Cookie was put down after her seizure, I brought her back out to the rest of the does and let them mourn, groom, and comfort her. Cookie tried her best to stay alive, but could not even lift her head.

There is one kit of Cookie's that looks like her, was the first one to come see her final moments, and was the only bunny that stayed beside her until we took her back out.

When Cookie passed, she was given a special place right beside my cat and my dog, where only the most important of animals are buried.

I know this is not a place for advertising things, but four kits of Cookie's need a new home. The kits are also the babies of another special bunny that passed as well, a brown-eyed white rabbit with grey ears, named Binky. All four of the kits are available for $15 each, but even though they are cheap, whoever takes any of them needs to give them a good home.
