Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up just thinking about it! Having worked at a vet, I've been attacked by angry house cats and dogs. They can be formidable enough. I have a friend who has a zoo to you educational program and met her bobcat and cerval cat. They were very sweet and very ATHLETIC!!!! LOL It was nothing for them to leap 6' in the air while playing. It was so cute!! BUT thinking of them being angry wild cats  Nope.....I don't think so! I'll leave that to you experts! :chicken:
Thanks for what you do Grumpy and thank you for the info! :)

Thanks for the info! I'm passing it along to my Pastor and his son. Pastor is so afraid it is a bobcat--afraid I'll go out one night and come face to face with it.

LOL.... :x I don't want to alarm you....BUT!

A bobcat is the "only" animal that will "meet" you
when you walk up to it. I am always extremely cautious
whenever I have one in a foothold.
They will lunge at you and try to get to you.

Makes the "teeny-hairs" stand up on the back of your neck. :x
I always..."go-potty" before I run my predator line.

Grumpy.

Yeah, that is kinda the sense I got from my Pastor's reaction....he just keeps saying "sista, I sure do hope it is a fox and not a bobcat" and "sista, you need a gun, sure-nough!"...love my redneck Pastor!

I absolutely love the pic with your son and his friend. Priceless. And as we humans and the wild perpetually collide, it is essential that there are humans out there with the knowledge and respect that it takes to successfully hunt the wild cats, dogs, and other creatures who threaten our boundaries.

Attaboy Grumpy! I too am a fur trapper. 5th generation. It is an endangered and misunderstood art for sure. A lot of folks think of the predators we target as cute and cuddly when they are anything but. The bobcat for instance is one of natures perfect killers. I sure am glad I am near the top of the food chain.

I have taken a lot of flack over the years for being a hunter and trapper. I have been called cruel, an animal hater, and murderer, along with all kinds of other vile things, when the reality is what I am is one of natures top predators doing what natures top predators do. The good thing about me doing the killing instead of some of natures other predators is that I have compassion and a conscious, whereas most of the other predators do not...well if they do they sure keep them hidden.

My oldest son was well into being a trapper until he saw the different prices on Southern furs V Northern furs!

And the work involved too.

I bet your garment tanned hides are to die for!

Oh, and you look JUST like I had imagined you. :D
