White bumps on buck's privates

I've asked about this before and haven't received a response, but I figured I'd give it another shot. This 3-year-old buck has only bred to one doe (I don't have her now, but as far as I know, she was healthy in this respect) and has not been bred in two years for various reasons. I am...

    Orchitis? White bumps on testicles

Not that I've noticed... I haven't squeezed them hard, but nothing's oozing out or anything. They appear to be just beneath the skin.

-- Mon May 09, 2016 1:09 pm --

Can anyone recommend what to do next? I'd really like to move this buck along, but I don't want to sell...
  3. bantambunnies

Didnt know where to post it.

I handle mine from birth, but still try to keep it to a minimum until they grow some fur. They're a lot of fun at 2-4 weeks, when they're still small and sleepy.

    Orchitis? White bumps on testicles

Tried to get a photo of it... bit tricky, but you can see the white spots.

    Considering an Angora...

Thank you! This is all really helpful.

    Orchitis? White bumps on testicles

A while back, I noticed very small, white bumps on the testicles of my Holland buck. Several months have passed since then, and I haven't noticed any other signs of illness. The bumps don't seem to have spread to the vent or face. He has not been bred in about two years. The bumps look...

    Considering an Angora...

Thinking on getting a single Angora as a pet, primarily, but I'm also interested in harvesting the wool. For years I've convinced myself that grooming would be too much trouble, but after attending a fiber festival recently and talking to some breeders there, I might change my mind. How much...

Botfly/Cuterebra/warble: removal and wound care (?)

No, I'm pretty sure it was dark all over. Actually, I tried squeezing it out, but it didn't work - the hole actually turned out not to be where I thought it was. The whole thing was pretty swollen up, so I couldn't tell. I know! So gross.

-- Wed Aug 19, 2015 12:03 pm --
<br...

Botfly/Cuterebra/warble: removal and wound care (?)

Thank you! :D Fly repellent... that is a wise thought. True. I think the key is just to hold on tight while they wiggle - they'll slowly wiggle themselves out of the holes if you hold on and pull gently. If you say so... ;) I took this just now - several hours after I removed it, so it's...

Botfly/Cuterebra/warble: removal and wound care (?)

Today I found a botfly larva/cuterebra/warble in my buck's testicle. :x I've been keeping an eye on him, since that testicle has been hard and a little bit swollen for well over a year now. There didn't seem to be an active infection and he was healthy, so I left it alone once the wound in it...

Fetal kits and full term in one litter. GRAPHIC pics.

Not to be insensitive, but... ;) That is so cool. Especially for you to be able to get a picture of the fetus inside the sac.

    Making a breeding decision

Not trying to start an argument - just confused. I was under the impression that the doe's pelvic bones would fuse after a certain period time, which would greatly complicate birth. A friend of mine bred a doe for the first time around two years, and the doe died because she could not give birth...

    My Hamsta

In my opinion... hamsters really aren't very trainable. If you're interested in getting another hamster at any point, I'd make sure you get a friendly hamster to start out with. Dwarf hamsters in general aren't exactly known for their geniality. I'd suggest a Syrian/teddy bear hamster. They tend...

    Lame leg

THANK YOU, Miss M! That will be so helpful. I'm confused, though. Should I just give the antibiotics now, no matter what? I let him run for a minute tonight to check on his foot. He's favoring it a little less - maybe putting it down when he runs - but it still isn't quite normal.

    Lame leg

Thanks. The vets around here really aren't competent with rabbits, so I don't know if I could/should do that. I'll keep an eye on him and look into getting the penicillin. I've never given an injection before - but I guess I could do it if I knew how?

    Lame leg

Any suggestions on how to treat infection? I'm really clueless when it comes to antibiotics, etc. ... the only drugs I'm familiar with using on the animals are Ivermectin, Duramycin-10, and antibiotic ointment (oh, and Frontline for the dog)

    Lame leg

Thanks! No, his toenails appear to be fine. I went ahead and gave him a dose of Ivermectin (1/10 cc injectable mixed into mashed banana) just to be safe. I had to treat another rabbit with Ivermectin the other day for fur mites anyway - and he'd been in recent contact with that rabbit - so I...

Newbie here, and trouble with my bunny

Weaning alone is tough on a bunny's digestive system. Many breeders lose young rabbits even when they're weaned at the correct time (roughly 8 weeks). Your bunnies have been taken away from their mothers far too early, unfortunately. Weaning, being separated from its littermates, and moving to a...

    Lame leg

Just found that one of my bucks appears to be holding up one of his legs when he hops. He does not seem to be in much pain, if any at all, and is hopping around on three legs. It does look like he's trying to hold the leg up, but possibly isn't moving his foot/toes. This is possibly from - 1)...

    Some questions....

Droppings are tiny and hard. Embryos are large (roughly grape-sized) and somewhat soft. I consider plantain weed to be the safest green to feed to my rabbits. They get a lot of it during the summer. But nobody can say that there are NO side effects associated with a type of green.
