Is it the end of the road for her?

My elops each lost about a half pound while molting this year. I imagine it is a little harder on her when she molts now than when she was younger. Maybe try some extra protein, like BOSS, and see if that helps.

Velveteen lops, Mucky and kits video.

Very cute! I am picking up my first vlops at convention. I hope mine are as mellow as yours!

I can't believe this might work!

Unfortunately, this experiment did not work. I expected to lose the runt, and was not surprised to lose the next smallest one. The other three appeared to be going strong, until a couple of days ago. The biggest one was having difficulty walking, so I thought the mom had stepped on it. It...

    ah, Craigslist...

There are some intelligent people who simply can not spell because of dyslexia, or other brain disorders. My husband is one of them. A very bright man, who is in a management position, but his brain simply will not spell like the rest of us. Not easy for me to understand as it comes easily to me.

    chinchilla stuff- a chinchilla family

Cute and happy chins! I need to take some pics of mine in their home, too. Charo cracks me up. She stretches out and sleeps on the "front porch" of her house every night after their run around time. I ended up getting the flying saucer, and they both use it, mostly at night. Good luck on...

I can't believe this might work!

I have an Elop who gave birth for the first time on the 12th. She didn't make a nest, pull fur, or clean them well and when I forced her to stay in the nest box to nurse, she urinated all over the five kits. Unfortunately, the other two experienced back up does refused to breed 30 days ago...

    Steel Gene

Since the buck I'm buying is a correctly colored black GTS, I am hoping he got the agouti from his mother, and he is essentially a chestnut with Es. I want to use him in agouti program. If the steel is to work in this, I always need to breed a GTS to an agouti and never to another steel, right?

    Steel Gene

I am buying a Gold Tipped Steel. His pedigree lists his sire as blue and his dam as broken orange. If I am understanding steel correctly, the dam could not be responsible for the steel as she is "ee" and steel requires one Es. So, I am thinking the blue is possible EsEs, producing a super...

    New colors for me

Black torts are often called just "torts". All other torts are called by a color then tort.

    New colors for me

Most likely the light ones are blue torts. Congratulations!

anyone going to the Arkansas State fair?

I've gone the past three years, but will not be attending this year. They have a new superintendent this year, which may be a good thing, but I am not sure. Last year, they did not turn in the points to the national club. I contacted the ASF Livestock supervisor this summer in a final attempt...

    Coops at Convention

They are wood, and many people buy or build wire "risers" to put their rabbits on. They will post the size of the cages for each breed some time soon.

    Rabbit with drooping lower eyelid

Hmmm. I raise elops, and their extra eye lid shows more often than other rabbits I raise. But the drooping I've never seen. E. Cuniculi causes some neurological problems, but not sure if it would do that. I would be very worried too since another rabbit recently died. I assume you have her...

    An interesting vet visit

The ARBA vet said silvadene is not good for the eyes, so don't put it on the front paws.

    Breeding brother & sister????

People doe occasionally breed siblings. Usually, it is for a specific reason like you have--to test for recessives. Whatever good points they have will be emphasized on some of the young, and whatever bad points will be emphasized on some, too. So the biggest thing is you need to have a plan...

    An interesting vet visit

I doubt he needs to be on anything, really. He has no sores or lesions that need to heal! The different color you see is where they shaved him. I am waiting to hear from one of the ARBA vets about the silvadene.

    An interesting vet visit

No, Dood, she didn't. And I was too stunned to think to ask. I just wanted out of there at that point, LOL.

    An interesting vet visit

I have an awesome elop with great type and I really want to continue his lines in my crew. But after his first few shows, he started showing signs of matted paws so he stayed off the show table the rest of the spring. Although he had no sneezing and his nose remained dry, he still had these...

I think you should tape these lessons and share them with the rest of us who might be a little like your sister. ;)
