    New breeder

as you can see, the bladder and the uterus are far enough apart that if the sperm made it past the vestibule, which is the most likely event, her peeing wouldn't affect the fertility

    Kit bragging pics

thank you for this thread! I haven't had babies in months due to literally every random and unfortunate event so this feels so good to see others babies!

    New breeder

It really shouldn't affect the fertilely, but if you are concerned just rebreed her. I breed for 5 fall offs through a 24 hour window

My Holland lop doe had only 1 kit and it was dead!

first litters are normally small to nothing and every now n then, they die as well. Re breed her when she's ready and I'm sure it will work out better!

The Line Between Show Rabbits and Pet Rabbits

white ear, the rabbit is one color and the ears are white. It's like vienna marked

The Line Between Show Rabbits and Pet Rabbits

100% agree, I choose each price for my kits at 6 weeks. I evaluate their structure, color, and gender to get a good price. It also depends who you are selling to. Breeders who breed for color will pay alot more for a WE than for a tort but a show breeder would cull the WE

The Line Between Show Rabbits and Pet Rabbits

make sure you know what you have and the lines they carry. If you can, put your choice babies on the table and see what the judges think because that's the best way to see what you really have. Personally, 100-150 is a good price to start because you make a profit and you sell the babies fast to...

The Line Between Show Rabbits and Pet Rabbits

I'd recommend not breeding for pet without continuedly upgrading your herd to be closer to the SOP, it was really hard to transition. If you start for pet, make sure you pedigree and constantly use the profit to save up for higher quality stock. It really helps in the long run since when you...

    Best feeding system?

I've been breeding hollands for 5 years and just now realized I never made a solid feeding system. I feed what they can clean up in a day and a handful of hay. How much do you recommend feeding for hollands? What about for pregnant, nursing, and reconditioning does? What about for weened babies...

    Line breeding?

It depends on the line. Line breeding strengthens everything good and bad. I've never had a problem with it in my herd and actually prefer it. You shouldn't have higher fatality rates because you line breed, it is probably another factor

The Line Between Show Rabbits and Pet Rabbits

I started out having a pet, then bred for pets (I was 12 and didn't have the money to get good stock), and am now 17 and breeding for show. I am a member of the pet community (Not many people know that I breed, they just see pictures of my spoiled herd) and I have to say the main difference I...

    Runt or peanut?

The easiest way to tell the difference is the ears and forehead. If the ears are small, pointed, and set far back, and the forehead is large and the eyes bulging. The picture you posted shows the forehead but the ears look normal and not pointed, hopefully not a fader!

Do you put rabbits to sleep when they reach old age

if they can live a long and happy life, I either keep them in a retirement area or pet them out

    Weird shaped testicles (balls). Help.

I'd get them checked out at a vet or something, doesn't look normal at all

    Nothing is selling any advice?

That was 4 years ago lol, I now breed hollands for show quality and don't sell pets.

Baby bunny fell from 2 story cage

Not to scare you but I had the same thing happen to one of mine and it passed 4 days later from a head injury, watch it carefully

Predicting if a doe will be a good breeder.

For choosing does, I look back on the mom. If she has high fertility, is a good brood, good mom, carries pregnancies well, ect. chances are her daughters will carry the same traits. I don't get all sciency with it cuz we tend to be wrong when we look too far in lol. A good brood doe also has the...

Doe won’t nurse when we pulled nest box

If they don't look fed then worry. The doe will constantly be bothered by a herd of crazy babies if she doesn't chase them off. She'll feed them when she finds fit. If she is running or kicking, she's probably empty. All my does are like that for the first few days since the kits are so over...
