    Domestic Pegions

I've raised both pigeons and ring-necked doves. I have more experience with the doves so I'll comment on those. They don't mind being confined if they have enough room to exercise and fly a bit. Mine were in a very large cage indoors that would have housed a macaw comfortably. They seem to be...

    Welp

I had one rabbit that consistently pulled hair at 2 weeks after a breeding. She pulled more when she was about to kindle and was a great mom. As others have said, all rabbits are made of meat and it depends on how much meat you want from your rabbits as to how big they need to be. Some breeds...

Experiment Started! (just how good are rabbit coco pebbles)

Just an fyi rabbit poop won't burn plants even if it's fresh. If it's dry you can pound it to break it down some so the seedlings can get some benefit from it.

    First Bot Fly--photos included *GRAPHIC*

It's totally normal for them to be visible when it's hot. I remember my first rabbits. I was told they were either females or a pair. When it got hot out I was surprised to see them both laying on top of their little house on their backs with the family jewels airing in the breeze. Imagine sort...

Help misquotes are hurting out rabbits nones

We're in zone 7b and our goldfish are fine in their small pond through the winter. As long as they can get below the ice they're ok. It is only about 3' deep.

    Field bindweed, and Kochia weed

My rabbits always eagerly ate up morning glory leaves with no problems. I had the kind with blue flowers.

Buck suddenly obsessed with mating doe as she begins kindling?

Bucks are not only a dangerous nuisance to a kindling doe. They will pursue her so vigorously that they will trample the kits in their efforts. A doe will get sufficient exercise to kindle without needing a buck to exercise her.

5 deaths in the last 3 months (rabbits fed from greengrocer)

Brassicas are still gassy even with parts removed. I would immediately stop feeding that particular type of green. After experiencing my rabbits having widely varying reactions to a tiny bit of cauliflower leaf and losing one of my favorite rabbits in the process I decided I would never feed...

    Split Lip Question

I think it's just for more mouth mobility for grabbing and eating plants, especially prickly ones. Variable width is most likely just due to genetics. It looks like the rabbit in the top photo has narrower teeth which I'd be more concerned about if it's not a very young rabbit.

How do you raise a rabbit to let you pick them up without kicking?

Repetition, consistency and keeping calm will help you train them. Unfortunately, some rabbits never settle down and can be very difficult. I've got scars from a few of those. I recommend a set of kevlar sleeves. They make a huge difference when handling a kicker and aren't too terribly expensive.

    Unsure about sexing kit

I agree with Buknee. A little more pressure is needed to expose more.

    moose n bunnies

Wow. I would be extremely careful tending the bunnies. Moose can be dangerous. I'm guessing here but I think "chessie" means Chesapeake Bay Retriever (a really cool dog with wavy, waterproof coat).

    Wry Neck

In the photo it looks like head tilt. Is she circling or just tilting her head?

Pregnant bunny eats nesting materials including wool

Just a bit of information - unless you take the time to specifically train the rabbit where to go (not normally done unless it's an indoors rabbit) it's the rabbit who decides where the toilet is. I'd go with the rabbit's decision for now and not stress her by moving the kits back to the toilet...

Pregnant bunny eats nesting materials including wool

From what I've read over the years eating hair clan indicate a lack of protein. Can you increase what you are giving them to boost protein and see if it helps?
