My 2x9x4 cubes high cage was all zipties. Lots and lots and lots of zipties. Panels laid over panels for support. The bottom of the 2x9 was probably 3 panels thick in overlapping layers. My cages do not break.

If you can't use coroplast you can use ceramic or granite tile from the flooring section or something like plexiglass can be cut and then drilled to ziptie to the frame. Take a walk through one of the big hardware plus other things stores like menards or home depot. Our menards was a bit lacking but the home depot has a glass cutting area that also has a variety of plastics in various thicknesses. These can also be used around the edges and even sealed with a nontoxic silicone to the bottom piece if you want a shelf that contains poop and pee. It's a bit more involved and expensive than coro but chew proof and much longer lasting. I'm still reusing panels to other projects.

I saw a thread where someone hung pretty shower curtains behind their rabbit cages. Maybe the inexpensive dollar store variety could be used and replaced rather frequently?
Just be sure that the rabbits could not reach them to chew.

I'm guessing my new set up? (the cages are set out about 6" so no access to them, there is a second row below this one now) They have definitely taken the brunt of the pee and hopefully it will help the wood last a bit longer... and I figured if I was going to do it it would be fun to have something pretty to look at in the process ;)

I've been thinking about making one of these too. Jeannie, do you have issues with your rabbits trying to chew the tarps? I like the idea of using them because, like you said, just dump it into the gardens... But... I'm worried that the tarp would get chewed up.

I have about 3 inches of straw on the bottom, so they don't usually get to chewing the tarp. I clean it out on the weekends and had any problems yet :) .... they will play around with the clothes pins once in awhile, but I put in tubes, wood to chew on, and other toys to keep them busy.
