Well, that's a relief!

I thought you had been "modified" by aliens or something...

...and don't tell anyone, but I happen to like you and your :poking: just the way you are.

What was the last line MSD? I couldn't really see it. Would you mind being ever so kind and making the font much larger please? :p

Wait! What's this??? I thought I was the one who was old? :wheelcha:

Obviously, I am better preserved than you, Mr. Whippersnapper with the bad eyes...

but of course, anything for you...

Can you read it now?

I'll have to convince hubby that this CAN be done in the house. He doesn't like to be around when I process, but he's just gonna have to suck it up. Now that he finally has a job, next season I'm hoping to have a small bunny barn in the backyard, but we'll see.

I processed six yesterday, and it was in the mid thirties. I ended up gutting most of them outside, and then just rinsed and bagged in the house.

It wasn't too bad, surprisingly. Getting inside to warm up every fifteen minutes or so was nice.

I kind of wish I had looked at RT before yesterday, when we processed 23 outside when it never got above freezing, but it actually wasn't too bad! The rabbits are so warm inside that as long as you keep cranking, they keep your hands warm for you. And we had the advantage of being able to chuck everything into a snow bank (either first in plastic bowls, or a little later, nicely bagged up into freezer bags) for rapid chilling.

Still, some great ideas here. We were just lucky to have had sub- but near-freezing temps so that running a hose was still an option, and plenty of sun and no wind despite all the snow and the temps.

By next summer, I swear we will have an outdoor kitchen with both hot and cold running water, a nice stainless steel sink and prep surface, and speakers with an iPod dock or similar. Once you hit the second hour of processing, you kind of want to listen to music or books on tape or something. Though we were discussing how choice of music is kind of difficult. Putting on nice soothing classical or jazz would really make you seem like a serial killer. The site looks horrible enough afterwards - it looks like a set for Dexter or something, as the bloody snow has had nowhere to go with the continued cold temperatures!
