So who is going?

A little out of my range for a local show.

Has anyone ever been?

Been there a few times, only once for a show (last year's national convention). A nice city in the middle of nowhere.

Is it worth the drive?

The only person who can answer that one is you.

And the biggest question - is it air conditioned?

Hard to imagine a club putting on a show in a month like June without AC, but the show secretary should be able to tell you all that.

OK, I got a response back from the show secretary. The catalog isn't finished yet, but here is the info I got so far. Hope ya don't mind cut and paste.

"It is held at the Sedgwick County Extension Building and it is indoors and air conditioned. Can come in Friday starting at 5 as there are specials Friday night also. Building is located at Ridge Road and 21st.
It is a carrier show. I was able to get a room at the Howard Johnson today for $53. But no we don’t have arrangements anywhere."

I will be booking my room tomorrow, after I speak with them on the phone. Anyone else going? According to the listing on ARBA, there will be tons of specialty shows also going on.

There are plenty of breed specialty clubs to be found in KS, and most of those clubs partner with local all-breed clubs and have specialty shows on the same dates as the all-breed shows.

I will be going as long as the budget holds up :D

I will be bringing English Angora and Silver Fox. Haven't determined the specific animals yet, but hope to bring the EA herd buck and several juniors, considering my black SF herd buck and several juniors of blue and black.

Got my room booked at the Airport Quality Inn. Not as cheap as HoJo, but the rooms looked nicer and the reviews were better.

Only charged me the regular pet rate of 10.00 per night for ALL of my rabbits.
Even offered me a cart to help bring them all in - I expect to take 15-20 - this will be the 2nd litters first show.

Ann Claire - I'll let my sister know you are coming. She's been on the fence. Maybe that will help sway her...
See you there!

Oh, yeah, I am bringing SFs and would so love to see how the babies are developing! Since we have that cold that hit today, I will be working on the peds and such tomorrow ... and practicing my tattooing on the meat buns until I can make pretty tattoos in those small ears LOL

Finally got the catalog. Looks like the specialties on Friday night will be Dutch, English & French lop, a double Angora specialty, Florida Whites, Havanas, Satins and Mini Rex.

Wow, that's a bunch of specialty shows.

The starting breeds for Saturday's shows will be Angora, Dutch, French lop, Holland lop, Mini Rex, Netherland Dwarf, Satin and Standard Chinchilla.

The judges are Conall Addison, Joel Marchall, Don Mersiovsky, Loyd Morgan, Randy Dickerson, David Kroenke, Gary Michaud and Blaine Maier. So far, I think the only one I've shown for is Don. It will be nice to get other judges opinions.

If anyone would like a copy of the catalog, just let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. I've received it as a PDF attachment, so it should email easily.

So, is anyone else attending this show?
I'm really hoping to get in touch with and expand my circle of English lop breeder contacts.
Breeding broken to broken, I'm in serious need of some solid colored rabbits.
