In addition to my rabbit herd we have a flock of laying hens, a dozen quail (coturnix and jumbo brown) and three muscovy ducks. We just started the quail and ducks this spring and hope to grow both into self sustaining and productive flocks. And of course my 100 lbs gsdXg.pyr puppy 😄

Rn we're growing out 19 rabbits for the freezer...my herd consists of 3 does and a buck, with plans to add another buck this summer. We have processed 35 rabbits so far this year. And my hens lay enough eggs for me to sell and cover a majority of my feed bill.

1. British white bulls for the freezer.
2. A pregnant pony due this month.
3. 3 female pigs and 1 male.
4. dogs Ila, Ada, Zoro, and Lehi. Now pups(these are nicknames) Red boy, Lazy butt, and Girlfriend.
5. 6 barn cats
6. Chickens/ducks

We have 2 dogs, a BCI boa, Corn snake, and 5 leopard geckos, 2 California Toads, and a Gargoyle Gecko. I don't appear to have any pictures of my Leopard Geckos but at least there is some of the others.

Moscovy ducks are on my dream list

It seems I like keeping a zoo!
Cat: Smokey - he's a purebred Ragdoll but rather likes being a barn cat/accomplished varmint hunter rather than the prince he looks like.
Cat: Sylvia, who's original name was Sylvester till we figured out he was a she, rescued as a scared stray at an RV park on Louisiana. Now she's a seriously overweight princess.
Cat: Punkin', who we just acquired in December when my best friend suddenly passed away.
Dog: Raylan, a 4 1/2 month old (already 65 lbs) Cane Corso who is a big, goofy, loving, protective block head.
Dog: Jax, almost 2 year old mutt who showed up on our deck skin and bones at an estimated 11 weeks old right after we moved into our house...guess he picked us and what could we do?
Wild Turkeys: Well, they're gone now but when our house was being built, we found a turkey nest and momma was killed by a predator. We took all of the eggs, ran out and bought an incubator and decided to see what would happen. Low and behold, we hatched all 11 eggs successfully and raised them! They bonded with us, as they got too big for their enclosure and started to want to roost in trees, they went free range. Lost some to owls at night in the trees and the rest moved on to find other Turkeys. Bitter sweet.

Rabbits and chickens coming soon!

Well, I personally only really have my rabbit herd. Buuuut on the farm we have:

A herd of usually about 20 (mostly, although there’s recently some dairy crosses in there) angus cattle + 2 Jersey heifers (Daisy and Moon Star)
A pack of three assorted doodles and two Great Pyrenees (we think, only one is actually from a breeder the others a rescue)
A lot of purebred show golden retrievers
Three barn cats (Stretch, our very very old practically retiree and his two little helpers Snakey and Smokey)
A two very old house cats (Theo and Cooney, one of whom is very friendly and loves people and the other whoms been sassy since the day she was born)
And about 7 practically free roaming (don’t worry they’re all spayed and neutered) cats who keep the mouse population down in literally all the buildings, we’ve got four barns and two houses on the farm that need to be kept mouse free and this is actually how many cats we need for that as we’ve found due to careful experimentation.
And two ponies and a mule (In descending order of size and ascending order of herd ranking Fred, Little Coco, and Big Coco)

We did used to have goats and chickens as well, but the dogs started trying to eat the baby goats so we got rid of them. And the chickens we kinda just decided we didn’t want to keep them anymore.

Yaks, Goats, Rabbits, Chickens, Quail, a canary named Amadeus and an ancient grumpy old man chinchilla named Chuckie. Oh, and the tropical fish...

What's it like having a chinchilla?
All I know is that they hold stuff, I never see people posting videos of them doing anything else 😒
