On one of the FB groups i am on... someone was talking about a disease they are fighting in their rabbirty. They think it is snuffles... but some of their description does not sound quite right...

they mentioned the rabbits having gobs of snot coming "from their eyes"...
they mentioned the rabbits having "seizures"

Please correct me..but i had not heard of those symptoms regarding snuffles. or is this a virulent new form ???

Discharge from the eyes can certainly be a symptom. Not sure about seizures. I get the impression that snuffles can manifest itself with a wide variety of symptoms.

You know the saying "every time I look up my symptoms online, I always find out I have cancer." I think the snuffles i s the same for rabbits. Every times something is wrong, the symptoms can always be blamed on the snuffles.

snuffles has a huge variation in how it can show itself. The most prevalent involved snot and weeping eyes, but it can cause bone degeneration, pneumonia, pustules, nestbox eye, abscesses and more. It's a nasty disease which is why killing is such an important part of animal husbandry.

I found out the hard way that weepy eyes is indeed a sign of snuffles

I agree that 'weepy eye' can be one of the symptoms of snuffles. However the person described "Gobs of Snot" from the eyes. i had never heard of that description .
