I got a new bunny not that long ago and she was in a small cage, so I used commersial bedding. But now shes in a larger environment and that bedding is expensive! I'm currently using straw as bedding because we have lots of that. Is that ok?

Straw is good bedding, and they will eat it too. It doesn't have much nutritional value, but it is good for their digestive system. If you have a feed store locally you can buy large bags of pine shavings or pine pellets for a fraction of the cost of pet store products.

pine shavings work well as bedding. :) Once your rabbit is fully litter trained though you can get away with only putting litter in "their corner" and then use something else as flooring.

I'm not sure what your rabbit is housed in, but if it's a standard plastic bottomed cage (for pet bunnies) they are too slippery to just let a rabbit run on, so you'll need to do something to prevent them from slipping and getting splayed legs. Carpet runner mats can work well if your rabbit doesn't chew. :)
