MSD and garden lady, what colours of hollyhocks do you have? single or double blooms? I would be grateful for (and happy to buy) any spare seed pods.

I looked and I think it is safe. It was probably Feb. or March, so the plants were small. I have single bloom and double bloom. Mostly the colors that MSD has, except my white has not bloomed yet and should next year. I should have yellow next year. I planted a lot of them, but they did not bloom yet. :? I have to wait until next year to see which ones are what color, but glad to send you some! I may have some pods from black ones this year?

You have black ones?! I don't think I've ever seen black hollyhocks...the darkest ones my grandmother had were burgundy.

Gardenlady,

oddly enough, some of my Hollyhocks bloom the first year. I would love to have some yellows and blacks- maybe we can swap seeds next year! :)

Beautiful Flemmish Babies! Mom's the same coloring as my Fawkes. Hope you post pics as they grow. Saw 3 week old Flemmishes when we went to get Fawkes and they were absolutely precious.

Definitely need to get a Flemmish Doe. Future plans. Loving those big bunnies.

Package says deep chocolate, but they look black and for some reason the drew more attention than any of them. The husbands of a couple of women friends commented on them and wanted seeds, and a neighbor man, but women never said anything. I just asked my daughter if she would call them black and she said yes, but here is a picture of them this year and I think they are not a true black.

I am going to check on them in a bit and make sure they are all full and take their picture. These are the most amazing rabbits. Did you read where I posted they were born wild and then caught as babies? They did get handled, but not as much as a pet and then turned loose to run anywhere they wanted, but the older female Zoup could have gone anywhere, but always came to the patio where the my cat sleeps under a tree. I opened the door once and my cat got up and came running and she got up and ran after him and actually knocked him down when she passed him. They almost pout if you do not pet them. They know if I pass their crate and go to another. I have to start on the end and go one by one until I get them all petted. Zoup goes back in her box and waits and I say, where is my pretty girl and she comes hopping out to the door and flattens her head to be petted.

Here is a picture of the yellow. I did not pay as much attention to them this year after all the rabbit excitement happened, but I started a lot of different kinds and transplanted a lot. The yellow one bloomed late. I did plant 2 different kinds of yellow, single bloom and double bloom, but not sure if this is a double bloom. Send me your address and be happy to send some.

The holly hocks are beautiful and the kits are so kissable. I can't resist the urge to kiss my kits, not very hygienic, but I notice the ones that grow up with me smooching them, greet me nose to nose when I open the cage door.

Those are beautiful, Garden Lady! I can't wait to add those varieties to my collection! :p

Just got my box and boy your box makes my envelope stink!! :D I told 3mina I needed to learn how to mail packages because I might want to sell seeds, plants or worms someday. Should I have taken the seeds out of the pods when I mailed them to you? Why I never thought of a box beats me. Thank you for the tea. I should go have some and relax. :thankyou:

Wow, that was fast! I don't remember using airmail... :pilot:

Now, now, you are supposed to have the tea with a reluctant to breed doe! :bunnyhop:

They'll probably be out of the pods by the time they get here!

No, I did not mail the pods because I never thought of a box and they were too lumpy for an envelope. I was in a hurry and went out to get seeds, but realized I had different colors, so got more envelopes to separate the colors and never thought of putting it all in a box and mailing the pods. How about the tea with Zoup waiting to see what she is going to do?

Ah- I misunderstood! I sent the pods in case either of you are a little OCD like me and might want to track what colors came from what pods, or have mass groupings of a particular variety. My colors and varieties are all mixed up because I transplant the little seedlings as they pop up all over the place and move them.

We-e-ell... seeing as it isn't the "real deal" Raspberry Zinger tea, only a reasonable facsimile, I suppose you could. :)

I went out and only took seeds off a plant that still had a flower, so I could tell the color because mine are all mixed up too and I transplant all over, so unless a flower is there, I have no idea. So much fun to see all the seedlings!! Raspberry Zinger tea, does it work? I looked and said induces labor. Going to post a question about labor.

What? Where does it say that? We recommend it as a way to get reluctant to breed does "in the mood". ;) It has worked for several of our members.
