I have a chestnut Netherland buck whose sire is BEW. He has BEW in the paternal side of the pedigree back 3 generations.

I'm assuming this makes him a Vienna carrier.

If I breed him to a blue or broken blue or basically a 'normal' doe will a percentage of the kits be Vienna marked or just carriers?

With a BEW parent, he is definitely a Vienna carrier and 25% 50% of his kits will get this gene from him but there is no way to know if they will have marks or not.

As a courtesy you should disclose to buyers that all kits could be Vienna carriers as many show breeders don't want the Vienna gene in their herd to potentially cause disqualifications due to white marks

Yes I can appreciate that as it was not disclosed to me and now he is the sire of several upcoming litters :x

But no indication of whether said 50% are going to be carriers or marked?
