There's a small, about half a meter, fir tree that sprouted next to a wall of the shop floor I work at, just a few meters from the corridor windows everyone passes going from one hall to the other.
There have been quite some troubles lately, and mood has been down and cranky for quite some time now.
Monday morning I came a bit early and decorated that tree. It took my colleagues until wednesday noon to notice it, a testimony of how preoccupied they are by what's going on, but the smiles it caused are pretty much my highlight of the year.
