I want to do solar to power indoor lights, fan, etc in our mini-barn. Any recommendations on where to start?

You need to figure out how much power you are going to need first. Find the fans and lights you intend to use so you can get the power specs. Then add it all up and build your system to suit. You will need a solar panel, solar charge controller, battery etc.

Check this video out from Bobby @ The Rabbitry Center. Lots of great info here about how his solar system works. Very basic bit it works.
