The first lionhead buck I ever owned died a few days ago. I had owned him for 6ish yrs and recently retired him from breeding after noticing sezuer activity..... Well about a month ago he started rapidly loosing weight. I thought maybe it was the cold and just that he was older so I brought him inside but it didnt help much. He died in the night. I still don't know why. I have gotten used to a lot of older rabbits passing, and having to let go of bunnies. That comes with being a breeder I know, but this one was a tear jerker since he was the bunny who got me into breeding.

On a happier note, I just attempted palpating my doe. I all but gave up on palpating cause it is so hard at times but I've been trying to breed this doe for months! I couldn't wait! So any ways I think I felt two babies (witch means there are most likely more I'm not feeling...if they are babies). But they seemed offaly far up in her belli toward her ribs. Is there an organ that feels like two marbles about half inch to an inch away from the ribs? Or are those babies? They where to big to be poop. About the size of a marble but slightly less hard.

So sorry to hear about your buck! I felt the same way when I lost my first buck, even though he was much younger.

How far along is your doe? The babies will feel like little marbles (more like blueberries at around 10 days), so I'm guessing that's what you were feeling.

I don't know the answer about the babies, but I had to say that I am so sorry about the loss of your buck.

It has been 13 days since I bred her. Fingers crossed! This does has given me nothing but trouble so here is to hoping that changes!

And thank you both for you sympathy

Sorry to hear about your buck ... he did live a good, long life with you!
