My youngest doe, Stripes-who is only 6 months old...just had 13, only 1 died!!!
I'm so proud of her so far, she built a nest and pulled fur before having them, and she
had all of them in the nestbox! Now I got to figure out how to keep them all alive! Her milk hasn't really come in much yet, I've had to force her to feed them 2x's...I'm going to try parsley today and maybe let them nurse on my doe (her mom, that has 12 day olds) at least to give them something. If her milk comes in and she nurses them, what's the chance of all of them making it? Her mom has raised 11 successfully. They were born on day 29 probably b/c she wasn't full grown and there were soooo many, but they are on the small side.
A few of them were born a light pink, I'm excited b/c since she is the daughter of the sire, then some hidden genes may come out. (He is Silver Fox, she is mixed w/ Am. Chin)
I'm dreaming here, but it would be cool if there were some Blue SF in his line, if that's even possible??? I know nothing about genetics, but Blue SF's are my favorite!!!

Wowee-zowee! 13?!?

When I get a litter of 10 out of a Rex I am dancing in the streets!

Since her mom has raised 11, I wouldn't be too worried about her raising them all. :)

Borage is another plant that helps with milk production, so give her that if you have any... and if you don't, I'd say it is high time to buy some seeds to plant for next time! ;)

Got to get Borage, I've always wanted to grow it anyway--now I have a reason!-not that I need to have a reason to grow a beautiful plant...
Oh, I checked her kits and at least most of them had been fed, I'll check more thoroughly later...Yay! Another reason to keep her, she is by far the sweetest rabbit since we raised her from birth, and being in the very first litter for us ever--we held her a ton!!! I picked her for her more SFish coloring, and b/c she seemed to have a strong digestion-never has she (knock on wood) reacted to fresh foods (which happens to be a problem her mom has, so I think she takes after her dad a lot)!
