It doesn't matter if the second or first gene is the himi gene. It is standard genetic notation to list the most dominant gene first, so you would always list shaded c(chl) before himi c(h).

Ooh ok.
So to clarify- the first one listed is the seal, and the second is the seal point?

It says if I breed a REW to a Seal (the first seal, so the shaded) I will have a 50% chance of getting Pointed Whites.
The seal with the Himi gene says I would have 25% chance of getting Siamese sable.

And I can't really find a pic of a PW on the internet.... it pops up blue himis. Are PWs the same as blue himis?

That calculator gives you all options based from all possible unknowns so some of it may be inaccurate based off what your rabbits really carry.

I might be wrong about seal/sable pointed as I have only just have had them begin to show up in my barn but I believe that to get the pointed version you need to have ee. I am sure someone else can verify or disprove that

Haha ok thanks

So to answer my main question - anyone- the first listed is a reagular seal and the second listed is a pw, which is just a himi seal/blue himi????
THANK YOU!

yeah pointed white is himi. Can you even have a seal himi? I don't think so. seal/sable or cchl is dominant over ch (himi) so as far as I know the himi ought not to express but just be carried.

__________ Wed Nov 04, 2015 1:40 pm __________

P.S lol I am barely competent with cchl genetics lol. I am getting sable pointed angoras and have yet to produce a cchlcchl seal although I bet that would be very lovely!

I fnt recommend this calculator - it is VERY inaccurate :groooan:

Himilayan is a RED eyed white with darker points and sometimes called a pointed white

Sable point is BROWN eyed white/ivory/cream with darker points and quite different genetically from a himi

c(chl) c(chl) is seal while c(chl) c(h) [or c(chl) c] is a Siamese sable and usually much lighter and easier to identify than seals

Oh sorry I must read more carefully. Seal is cchlcchl and rew cannot carry himi so a seal x rew will give no himis or pointed whites but if you have non extention in both parents you could get pointed sables which are somewhat similar looking to himis.

__________ Wed Nov 04, 2015 1:54 pm __________

I have some. I'll go take some pictures

Sable points. One sable cchl gene plus one rew c, and ee. One is black based and one chocolate. Brown eyes, ears are not very dark, and fur is ivory not white :)1104151404a.jpg
