Ok so this is the baby bunny thats 58grams at 3weeks old still not growing or nursing but drinks water and must be eating some oats

I used baby oil to clean him up and found this down below Im not sure what to make of it any Ideas

gonna finish cleaning (drying) him up and stuff but I think he got cold so hes being held right now to warm him up

I can't tell what it is. Is it grown or an enlarged penis?

I would blow dry him. Use a warm setting and rub the fur with your hands- not only will that speed the drying, but you will know if your hand starts to get hot that you need to turn the heat down.

If you could take pics again after the bunny is dry it might be better. The organ may seem overly enlarged simply because we usually see it surrounded by fluffy fur.

he's just got a sore bottom. It's basically gotten well inflamed. Clean him up well. Get rid of the oil if you can...it'll make him sick to ingest all that oil. You might want to put a drop of liquid antibiotic on it to help heal him up quicker.

Just keep him clean and dry and he'll get better. HONEST.

I've had babies will REALLY sore bottoms (can happen fast) and within about three days as long as they are kept clean and dry they are mostly healed up. Had one that healed up wrong (wouldn't have been able to breed)....but it managed fine until it went into the freezer. Rarely get that anymore as I BRED that lack of cleanliness/poor digestive system OUT of my herd.

I will try and keep it clean best I can I have to keep cleaning his eyes at least once a day they keep gunking over and sealing shut on 1 side

On a side note his poop is not black its tan and its very tiny probably has something to due with his not growing or nursing

hes dry but there still some oil left on him that I cant get off without really harassing him even more

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but a 3 week old bunny that is not eating or growing, has tan runny poops and goopy eyes is probably not long for this lifetime. Prepare yourself. I don't know that there is really anything you can do for it.

__________ Fri Dec 28, 2012 10:25 pm __________

If it were mine, I would go ahead and cull it to try to keep the rest of the litter from catching whatever it may have.

i have to admit.. I missed the green poo line.

That bun has something wrong digestively.

The swelling and inflammation will go away if you can keep him clean and dry. But the green poo... that's really not a good sign and it's often a sign of mercy to quickly cull them. You don't want to grow that out for breeding, and for food purposes may or may not get there and it will take an extended period of time. Sorry.

Just as a FYI
Quickest and easiest way to clean up baby buns is to use a SHARP pair of scissors. Trim away the nasty hair...down to the skin if needed. Just cut it off. Do it slowly and carefully. You don't have to get all, but getting most is very helpful especially around the peri area. THEN give baby a quick rinse in warmish water. And hold them in a clean dry warm towel until mostly dry. A wee bit of dampness won't hurt him, even in the dead cold of winter. (been there done that too many times).

he stopped growing just over a week ago and I expected him dead then but he keeps eating and drinking regularly I have been adding a bit of pro biotic powder to their water I dont really expect him to survive but hes not dead yet for some reason

and I will trim the gunk covered hair later today with some scissors he lives in an aquarium with his mother and sibling so no risk of cold outside for him

he gained 1 more gram today brining him back up to 59grams
