One of my pregnant does looks uncomfortable and is laying on her side. I'm hoping that it means she's close to kindling. I gave her some parsley, although I'm not sure why. I read it somewhere. Here's a pic of the poor thing. Her nesting room is off the pic to the left and she has two circular areas dug out of the hay in there. Almost no fur pulled though.

She doesn't look very happy, does she?

Parsley is a gentle emmenagogue, which translates to an herb that stimulates uterine contractions.

Mine lay around a lot in the last days before kindling, so she is probably fine. She may just be uncomfortable in the heat, but she does not look distressed.

Thanks, MamaSheepDog. Also, thanks for the translation. I don't know if I have enough keys on my keyboard to type that word in for a google search. ;)

I'm pretty crazy about that little girl and I'm probably prone to unnecessary worry. She's the sweetest animal on Earth.

Mine often look like that, too, in the last few days before they kindle, when it's hot. :)

I agree she looks uncomfortable, but not distressed. And the only thing that will help the uncomfortable part is kindling.

Mine lay around like that too when they are a few days from delivery. Look like she is going to have a nice size litter.
Beautiful doe, but then I am very partial to Californians. :)

I have a FG that's been laying around exactly like that for the last few days. Today she started nest building, but there was no fur pulled as of an hour ago.
