Just a quick thought: you want to be careful if you actually put a car into your garage, Karebru. The exhaust can be lethal to buns.

 Would that go for smaller combustion engine also? Like ATVs and riding lawn mowers. Mines going to be outside and well ventilated but the mower shed and the rabbittry will be attached with a wall separating the 2.
 Would the noise cause problems, or would they become immune to the noise since they were raised around it? :?

The left side will be rabbtry, center is the mover/lawn shed, and right is the quarantine area.

How do yall's buns handle mowers and other lawn care noise? :x

We drive the quad with a noisy trailer attached through the barn all the time, it's how I muck stalls. Also we have big noisy roll-up doors at both ends of the barn. The buns get used to it really quick and I actually think they are less stressed by the noise, etc. when I take them to a show cause they're used to all kinds of different things.

Yeah, thanks. ;)
I wish I had room for a car! My lawn tractor goes in there, but I'm already in the habit of pushing it in and out with out it running. As it is, I'm going to have to do some serious rearranging.
I'm a woodworker and equipped to do side work at home. That means noise and dust. Fortunately, there is a 15x25 carport over the driveway, where I (used to  ) keep a boat. My cage rack will be on wheels so I can move it, or what I'm doing out there at times. When I was doing chickens, I tried to convince The Mama that we needed to move the carport to the back yard, but she parks her car under it. Maybe if the rabbits go really well.......
It's good to hear that they'll get used to the sound of the overhead door... I'm guessing I should keep it's use to a minimum and not move them around too much around kindling time, though.

Hello karebru,
I would not worry much about the sound.
It is only Strange or very sudden loud sounds that may send them off in a tear.
I get around that by having a Radio playing whenever I am in there.
They are quite unconcerned with normal everyday sounds.
I believe that music or talk works well. it also allows me a reprieve when I'm
in there for a long time.
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

Our rabbits are used to dogs, cars, lawnmowers, tillers, weedeaters, chainsaws, circular saws, and trains. They will likely panic a bit at first, especially youngsters, but they get used to the various noises pretty fast.

My last chicken coop was a covered dog run. If it weren't for the hardware cloth I had fastened around the bottom, they would have lost their heads when I weed-eated. They would follow me as I went around it, pecking at the fresh clippings as they were cut, oblivious to the danger.
