Admit it, you crave to see the pictures I took of my kits yesterday!
First out is - I believe it's a buck - Tjalfe. New breeder. If it's a doe she's Röskva and will stay either way. (Two siblings in norse mythology. Tjalfe broke the bones of Tors goats to get to the marrow when they ate them, which caused the goat to be lame when resurrected again. To pay for his mistake he became a servant of sorts to Tor. Because all of this makes sense.)
And this is Bejla. An unknown/less important diety..I like the name. My rabbit Bejla weighs almost 1/3 more than any of her siblings and that's why she's a keeper
Snotra is known to be polite and wise. I think I may ave chosen poorly on that name because my Snotra bit my bum when I didn't pay her atention! Or rather nibbled at my jeans pockets very politely she's the checkered mix who's curious to see why Tjalfe got all attention. 9 weeks old.
The four broken kits with more colour
I'm also keeping a black doe that's 8 weeks old and who will be called Natt (godess of night, also the swedish word for night). And I'm changing Sotöras name. I don't normally change the names of adult rabbits but Sotöra never really clicked with me. It was more a ''I need to figure something out). Ran however, fell riht to the tastebuds. Of course she's a Ran! Besides, Ran is the diety of the sea and had 9 daughters! That has to be a good name, I want my rabbits to get daughters
