Oh, I forgot to mention... a friend on mine, got rabbits from the same place I did, and they are showing signs of being sick also.
I think I just got sick rabbits from the start...

That is more than likely. I may be small compensation to know you could have done nothing to prevent it. When I buy rabbits I always do two things. I will enter the rabbitry and wait quietly and listen for about 15 minutes. If i hear even one sneeze, I am out of there. The second thing is to look in as many cages as I can for matting on the inside of the front paws. Any matting and I am also gone.

This is good advise , --also look for wet noses, look for does with head tilted up when resting, and listen for nasal or respiratory rattling , and try to talk to some others who have purchased rabbits from the seller.

All VERY good advice...

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm really glad you did chose to cull them.

I remember feeling very frustrated after I culled my herd...Why buy pay good money for rabbits you might have to dispatch?
Actually, I looked at some very high priced English Angoras when I decided it was time to start re-building my herd.
($150+) They were 3 hours away. The snot and eye goo was so bad that I would have offered to CULL those rabbits for the owner had she been there!
She had left her teenage kids at home to try and sell them to me. Lets just say I didn't hesitate to make the three hour trip back empty handed!!! I wanted to cry when I left...those poor rabbits, those poor people who would be buying them and spreading the disease. I gave up on angoras all together at that point. Too many sick ones in my area.

Luckily, everything ELSE I looked at was in good shape that year and for several years afterward. Honestly, I haven't seen pasturella since.
