Oklahoma State Fair show

Even tho it isn't until Sept, I just found out that entries must be postmarked no later than Aug 15th, which is sneaking up on us fast.

Don't know if other fairs are like this, but it might be something to keep in mind, since fair season is upon us.

Anyone else planning on attending the OK state fair show?

Are you talking about the Tulsa State Fair? If so, I went to it 2 years ago. Had a good time.

No, not Tulsa. I won't be attending that one. (Tulsa isn't a state - why do they call it the Tulsa state fair anyway?)

I am talking about the one held in OKC at the OKC fairgrounds. It is a one day carry cage show.

The Tulsa fair show requires you have your animals in place by 7:00 am on Saturday, and will not release them until sometime Sunday afternoon (unless you are 150 miles away, then you can leave at noon. I am approx. 135 miles away).

While not as bad as leaving them for the duration of the fair, I'm not interested enough in showing there to blow an entire weekend, plus motel bills and meals out to attend.

I'm well aware of how the one in Tulsa is run. I kind of liked the experience of being there, but I won't likely do it again. It was one of those "been there, done that" type of things.
