I'd have a heart attack if I caught one of my rabbits sleeping like that
I almost did yesterday, when I found my black otter buck, Eclipse, apparently dead... I was so relieved when he opened his eyes.
We're having a "heat wave." It got up to 37F so he was stretched out, loving it. He usually is up at the front of the cage begging for a head rub, but he didn't even get up till I opened the cage door!

11's biggest, a buck. Only 1 doe and she sucked. 8wks, 1day old, 5.8 pounds.
One was put in the growout pen outside, rest straight into cull cage for tomorrow. Got to get it's weight, if noticeably less than the rest of the litter, I'll move it into the cull cage instead.
Her litter stayed with her, she hasn't been bred back yet.
Pulled all of the 5+ pound buns, sf & rex/rexmix, then the smallest of the rex/rexmix, as they are too slow growing to be worth the feed. Have a previous Amber pair that is hardly over 5 pounds, insane!! Going to compare the ones I kept to those two & might have two more to cull.
So, in all, 16-19 buns to get through tomorrow! Going to be a long day. Probably going to do a few at a time peppered throughout the day, as I'm busy with lambs.

Lilac kit was out yesterday. All except 2 were out today, so I lowered the nest & put two out with the others for pics. They're too cute!

I need a winter rabbitry & a summer rabbitry...

Idk, it's so hard to decide who to cull. Looks like I'll be keeping the three rex & the choc mutt for now.
Sf mutt is small, haven't posed him, might keep him long enough to get some litters, if he has good shape, then cull.
Hopefully, tomorrow I'll buy new floor wire, move them out temporarily and redo their floor. Then bag up all of the poop.

2-3 runts, but still growing. If 14 wasn't a weirdo about her small # of kits, and didn't have the screamer in there, I'd move them in with her.
So many new, fun colors!
2 castors, 2 opals or lynx, 2 chocolate otters, 1 solid blue or lilac & 1 solid chocolate are my guesses.

Finally got the new floor in!
Filled 3 bags of poop, too.
Lowered the water to the side & redid the tarp wrap to be directly on the cage vs over pallets. Top has metal roofing under the tarp to stop water.

Random comparison pic. Rex at 16wk, rex/sf choc at 13wk, sf/rexnz at 10wk & 3/4th sf at 8wk. Hoping the rex from pedigreed buck makes them grow faster. Need to compare the two rex in the barn to the 2 out here, but they were smaller before.
