It is a vision of loveliness!

But oh, so empty! Time to get to work, OAF! That barn needs filling! Just because you got off work early doesn't mean you can loaf around all day! (Where is the whip-cracking smiley when you need it?)

Oh, nice! Can't wait to see it after you get all of the buns in. And I can't wait to have one of my own!

I must go pray... the green eyed monster is eying your new barn!!!!!!! Bad me, bad me.

Arg... I'm so jealous! I wish we had the room for a nice big rabbit area like this. My husband would disagree... He likes my limit of 6 cages.

How is it anchored to the ground? Does pic #6 have something to do with securing it? I don't see any concrete footings... if that were my bunnybarn (and oh how I wish it were!), it would quickly belong to someone else- because it would go crashing off our mountain in the first good windstorm!

I see that picture 285 does have a ground anchor-like the kind used for mobile homes-they look like augers, or the twisted metal dog tie-outs, and are drilled way deep into the ground.

Oh yes, complete with the Carolina-style side panels. Been looking at them for a few months now. The augured anchors apparently work, too. A dealer in North Little Rock had a few buildings when last year's tornado outbreaks produced some really high winds as one of them touched down nearby. All were augured down, and not a single one of them was lost in the process.

Congrats on getting your new barn. It looks awesome. Be sure to post up pics of the finished product once you get cage setups, doorways, etc. done. Are you thinking of using chainlink fencing?

Dimensions? Cost and supplier needed!

18'W by 30'L, it came from Carolina Carports, Inc. It is constructed of 14g square pipe frame, 26g metal roofing with 12 regular in ground anchors and 6 auger anchors. It was just shy of $2,000.00

Yep, it has 6 of those...

What height did you get? Are the half-walls at the top an additional option? (I don't see those on their brochure, unless that's what they call J-trim.)

They don't seem to have as many size options as the other place you mentioned before, but this place is close to the same price for a bigger barn. I just don't know yet whether we'll have the space for a bigger one.

You just have to ask for what you want. The side walls are an add on...this is what I ordered....18' x 30' x 6' (W/L/H) with half walls on both sides at the top, using the 26g sheet metal and 6 auger anchors.

I can give you the contact info for the Distributor I talked to from Houston. Amy Meador at Winslows, their contact info is:

If we have enough room for the bigger barn, the extra space would be nice (I could fit an extra 12 holes), but we haven't found a place yet. This is kinda what I'm thinking I'd like, but longer, with a bigger enclosed area and a gable front:

It seems as though their online estimator doesn't have all the available options (half-walls, mobile-home anchors, etc.). When we get closer to being ready to order, I'll shoot Amy an email.

I like the enclosed building! You could store all of your feed there, and have a place to take weights, groom, keep records... the possibilities are endless! :p

I am afraid both OAF and yourself are making sinners of us all. Thou shalt not covet thy fellow rabbit breeders barns!

We did the open end to take advantage of the prevailing winds for ventilation...it is like a breezeway in there!
