Sooooo... came home to find that Hubby had brought me home a new rabbit! Guess that he had stopped by the pet store to grab some bird food for the 'tiels and saw this adorable little fuzzy creature. The pet store is claiming that she's an Angora of some sort, though I have my doubts. I'm thinking Jersey Wooly, m'self. Either way, she's fuzzy and adorable. I asked him what he was thinking, but all he could say was that I'd been looking for a wooly rabbit for a while now (fiber rabbits are a bit hard to come by here), and she was sweet. :-? So, now we have a little fuzzy doe and a total of 3 rabbits in quarantine.

I'll be honest and say that I'm absolutely smitten with her, and I have never in my life felt a pelt that was that soft (she's softer than the Mini Rexes I had as a kid)... it was like petting a cloud. Also, she was purring while I was petting her. I have no idea how old she is... I'm guessing around 6-8 weeks old, but if she's a Jersey Wooly I'd expect her to be small. Right now she literally fits in comfortably in my hand. Here's hoping that she's actually an angora of some sort, but even if she stays small, I guess that just means that I'll need to get more eventually, right?

Yeah... Got a good look at her today with non-tired eyes when I was cleaning the hay from her coast. I'm thinking double maned lionhead. Which is unfortunate cause she's just not going to produce any/enough wool. So at this time she's just an additional mouth to feed. Were not really in a place for 'pet' rabbits right now.... They need to earn they're keep.
