The kits. Ideally intended to be fryers, but I really like the tri-colour buck, and the magpie girl on the right side.

The harlequin does. So pretty. They're feisty, though, and are going to take a little while to settle in. I've already had a couple run-ins with Splash - she scraped me up when I was moving her from Ladysown's carrier to one of my own. Then again, when I got her home and was giving everyone hay, I startled her, and she turned into blender bunny in the cage, smashing against the sides of the cage and then trying to jump out. I grabbed her, but in trying to get her under control, she shredded my other arm, and kicked me in the face, just about catching my eye with her nail. I had some redness on my eyelid, but no blood, and even the redness is gone now. My sister has promised to send me safety glasses tomorrow. Lisa was more straightforward in her dislike of change - she just boxed me whenever I reached into her cage, lol.

Vicky, the polish doe. For such a small rabbit, she's surprisingly relaxed. A few token struggles when I've picked her up, and she prefers to sit at the back of the cage and watch what I'm doing, but other than that, no troubles with this girl.

Not pictured is Rufus, the solid chocolate Polish buck. I had to set up a new quarantine cage for him(actually he and Vicky both, I didn't like how Vicky was walking on the stretched steel), and by the time I was done, it was too dark for photos.

Disappointed that I didn't get to meet Ladysown herself, but so far very enthused with the rabbits. They're nice healthy stock, and I am sure once the Harlequins are settled in, they'll be nicer to be around. Very happy with the Polish, I think I made the right choice for my final small breed(it was a toss up between Polish, Mini Rex and Hollands). I will hopefully get some nicer pics tomorrow :)

It was a bummer didn't work out.... best laid plans and Van troubles...

The Harlequin girls are funny but never mean. I never had problems with them and once they settle I expect will be the same for bad habit.

The polish were on expanded flooring at my place and did well. Vicky is a quiet corner sitter and rustic a nosy boy. :)

Enjoy them. :)

Oh I will! I've already spent some time cuddling the Polish... they're everything I hoped for and more. I can't get over how TINY they are. I mean, they weigh the same as my Lions(ish), but seem so tiny!

I totally blame myself for Splash getting me the 2nd time. Didn't even think for a second "oh this is a new rabbit, so I should go slow", and she panicked, and I panicked. I hope no one takes my previous observations the wrong way, I wasn't trying to say anything negative about the Harlequins, or anything like that... I'd be pretty stressed if I'd been put in a box, toted across the province and then touched by someone I didn't know!

Maybe we have different sized flooring? Vicky kept looking like she was going to put her leg through the wire, so I felt safer moving her :)

I didn't take it negative, you said you startled her. :)

Beautiful bunnies! :D

Good. I've see things get take out of context on this board, and the last thing I want to do is hurt Ladysown's feelings. I just wanted to make it absolutely clear to anyone who may be reading this that the doe is not to blame and I am in no way saying that.

They are gorgeous, aren't they? I'm smitten with the Polish. Trying to stay detached from the kits, though. I love looking at the Harlequins, and can't wait until they like me!

What a pity that you two didn't get to meet! :(

The same thing happened with me and Hoodat when I brought him the Rex- he had an appointment with his doctor, and the office was running late. Since I was picking up OAF for her first visit here as well and we had a five hour drive ahead of us we couldn't wait until he got home and instead just put the buns in the cages he had ready.

Very pretty rabbits you have there, BH! And you know they will be healthy stock since Ladysown has culled so hard for good immune systems. :)

OMG you people can meet outside RT? Unfair! :O

Well.. sorry you missed each other this time. But congrats on the rabbits! :D The red-white in the top looks so cute! Love markings on Vicki too :)

Love the kits and the Polish. :) Are you just going to use the Harlequins for meat, or are you considering showing them? I know they're a rare breed, even on the ALBC list.

the harlequins aren't show able, and I got out of harlequins because we don't have enough people showing them in Ontario at the moment. one other shows, and it just didn't seem worth it to me. I can always get back into them if I so desire. But if I do, I'll get into the bright red/black.
