:welcome: To Rabbit Talk, Karenl from another NZer! Those popples sure are cute :)

I'm not to good on colours, but I think there's two broken blacks, two ruby eyed whites and a broken black/ blue charlie?

They are so cute!! Congrats on the babies!

How can you tell what color(s) they are going to be?

2 Brocken blacks(, almost a booted b/Brocken)
1 black broken Charlie
And 2 that you won't know colors for a few more days. :) :bunnyhop:

By the shading on there skin when born then when they are only 2-3 days old they have fur so colors are very obvious then( well most the time)

__________ Thu Aug 07, 2014 1:39 pm __________

Misty is a Charlie (black from what i can tell from the pics)and nibbles is a seal point:)

What does booted mean and is that a good or bad trait. Plus how do you tell the difference between black and blue?

Booted rabbits are more than 50% colored. Its a DQ, but they make great brood does and great pets.
Black is a main color and blue Is just a diluted black. Blues are lighter then blacks. To know if you have a good blue. They have to have even color through out the whole body with dark toes and toe nails. Off colored toe and toe nails are DQ.

__________ Fri Aug 08, 2014 1:26 pm __________

Too cute! Yes you have 1black broken Charlie, 2 black brokens( watch out for copper be hind there ears, cuz that makes them a Brocken black otter) and the last 2 well have to wait until eyes open to see if they are BEW's or REW.

OK checked babies today. All doing well and nice and fat the two rew or bew babies now that they have a tiny bit of fur almost have a faint hint of colour along their spine and a tinge of colour on their ears so will they be broken blue charlies. Do they sometimes change colour from the time they are born till when their fur grows?

Usually charlies will have ear, nose, and/or eye markings only. It sounds like you have a lightly marked broken blue.

That would mean that the sire and the dam carry dilute.
