He's a gorgeous himi! Himis have points...not butterflies. He looks like a blue himi which tend to have a smaller nose marking. Also, himis that carry REW usually have smaller nose markings than himis that are ch ch.

Yeah, mama's right on the points. Butterflies are for brokens and even then it's not supposed to be a preferential thing to the judge. He's a black himi though, the points are faded from the heat - as well as he's from a shaded program which is what I'll be using him for too. Father was an awesome Siamese sable - not sure on the mom - think he might have sold her already. Either way, the buck is amazing type-wise. I also have blacks to work with as well and can darken up the points of the babies that way if I so choose.

That's true Peach. My blue himi is so faded looking right now you can hardly see his nose marking!

Haha - don't worry about it Hoppin! xD Oh, I didn't tell you guys! I had my first litter back on the 11th. Looks like I got one sable, a rew, and either 2 blacks or a black and a seal. When they were born one of the blacks was way lighter then the other. It was like sort of gray brown versus DARK black. I'll have to get a pic for you guys. I didn't want to post any pics on my website/FB because I'm not sure how common it is to lose them yet. Figure'd I'd just wait til they are 5 weeks old or so and then post them.

I have another one due on 8/24 from my Smoke Pearl doe. Very exciting! ;)

__________ Mon Aug 19, 2013 8:50 pm __________

Oh and I completely missed about Lana! Good luck with her! I didn't know what you meant at first about covering them. I haven't heard of doing that before, but after reading it again, I figured you were probably covering her to give birth? Is that a good practice? Now I'm wondering if I should be doing that or not o.o

LOL covering is basically mating, but I am using a friends buck (a 400 dollar one) who has 2 legs since I did a favor for her. I guess it can be used for both (mating within your herd or using someone elses buck).

Good luck with the kits! Usually seals look like really, really dark siamese sables without the shading. They're ideal to breed to a REW or himmie to create medium colored sables.

I think Lana is due on Sept. 17. I will definitely counting the days! :D

Ohhh! I never cover them when I breed them because I want to make sure they do the deed! haha..hrm Does it seem to help them get in the mood? o.o

I just got a pic of the babies. They're 8 days old today.

I'm really liking that REW - he/she is the explorer of the group! Also very lovey too! Of course it's also the biggest!
